Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi demanded 2 supreme Court judges enquiry n dismissal of the minister in Lakhimpur case

The Congress delegation led by former president Rahul Gandhi today met president Ram Nath Kovind on the Lakhimpur Khiri tragedy and demanded dismissal of the state union home minister Ajay Mishra whose son has been sent to judicial custody of 14 days. In a tweet Congress’s former president Rahul Gandhi wrote in Hindi : When after committing a crime, the government and administration are involved in unjustifiable acts then raising of voice is inevitable. We have two demands with regard to Lakhimpur Khiri injustice – Impartial judicial enquiry and immediate dismissal of union state home minister so that justice is delivered tweeted Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress delegation comprised of Rahul Gandhi, general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha Malikarjun Khadge, former union minister n CWC member A. K. Antony, senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary.

After meeting the president and presenting him a memorandum demanding a high level judicial probe in Lakhimpuri Khiri incident and immediate dismissal of union state HM Ajay Mishra Rahul Gandhi while speaking to media said that unless the state HM is not dismissed there can’t be an impartial probe and this is the cumulative voice of the bereaved families of martyred farmers and the entire nation. In addition he demanded a supreme Court probe in the matter by two sitting judges. The Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that the president gave a patient gearing to their request of judicial enquiry and other demand as this is the voice of the people of the country not her or her party’s voice.
