COMMOTION at the TV debate show anchored by Anjana Om Kashyap at Rishikesh on Ankita Bhandari issue
The Ankita Bhandari brutal murder issue has dominated in Uttarakhand during the ongoing election campaign with the ruling party and the state government becoming defensive not uttering a single word on this issue, despite electorates asking as to WHO THE VIP IS , THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NAME HIM ? The traumatic mother had last month allegedly disclosed the name of a VIP and had also written a letter to the DM Pauri in this regard including held a protest demonstration at Srinagar for several days requesting to interrogate the alleged VIP named by her in the letter. She had publicly uttered the name of the said VIP in front of the TV camera.
Meanwhile, today when a national news channel had organised a debate at Rishikesh Degree college with Anjana Om Kashyap as its anchor, the crowd collected there started raising slogans on Ankita Bhandari issue as to who is the VIP, name him and beat him with shoes etc.
What is interesting to note hear that the Aaj Tak anchor and its camera crew etc has reached by a colourful helicopter to Rishikesh with Aaj Tak inscribed on it, but due to the apprehension of mass opposition she preferred to be at Rishikesh and didn’t go to the interiors of Pauri Garhwal constituency reveal sources.
The entire show went into doldrums with Anjana Om Kashyap not able to properly question people in the midst of excessive noise of the crowd extremely annoyed with the BJP n the government .
The eminent singer Jubin Nautiyal whose father had in 2022 contested election from Chakrata assembly constituency was also invited as a guest debater but had no option than to stand on one side of the crowd, smiling , hearing the slogans being raised against the culprits and the ruling political dispensation.
The crowd was so restive that there was literally a scene like stampede with police trying to protect the celebrity and the anchor. It is believed that those who raised the slogans and disturbed the show were the Congress activists.
Kindly recall that Anjana Om Kashyap had just two days ago interviewed the Pauri GARHWAL high profile candidate Anil Baluni at Rishikesh with people posting the interview on social media questioning her and candidate of BJP as to why they were mum on other burning issues of Uttarakhand viz Concrete land act, Ankita Bhandari case, who is the VIP, 1950 Mool Niwas Pramaan Patra topic etc.
The AAJ TAK anchor Anjana Om Kashyap was at Rishikesh on the day of prime minister’s visit at Rishikesh. Since then she is at Rishikesh probably covering Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal and Tehri Garhwal constituencies. There were also slogans of Jai Shri Ram and Vandematram in between.
It is believed that those who raised the slogans and disturbed the show were the Congress activists .
A senior journalist of Hindi stream Mr.Malik on social media platform wrote : It’s unfortunate to boycott the anchor of Aaaj Tak Anjana Om Kashyap today at Rishikesh , Uttarakhand. The furiousness of the people is indicative that our media, especially electronics media has list its credibility. This is dangerous for the fourth pillar of democracy wrote K.P. Malik.
