Coach of Paralympic shooters winning 5 medals, Subhash Rana hopes to get adequate facilities to bring more golds in future
Younger brother of eminent shooter and coach in Tokyo Olympics Jaspal Rana, Subhash Rana has to his credit training and coaching shooters having brought five medals in Paralympics shooting competition raising Indian Tricolour high lauded by president, prime minister, union sports minister and sports fraternity of the country.
Son of the Dronacharya awardee, former Uttarakhand minister in the first cabinet led by the then CM Nityanand Swamy, Narayan Singh Rana who is also the president of Uttarakhand Rifle association, Subhash Rana is credited for getting five medals in paralympics shooting competitions and is also active in socio political field.
A BCom honors graduate from Delhi University he became active in students politics and social service as well. In 1998 he won the election of Central councillor and executive councillor from Delhi University students union including being active in students politics as an active member of ABVP in Uttarakhand and Delhi University.
While he actively campaigned in Dhanaulty and Mussourie assembly constituencies earlier he was also actively involved in the organisation of Courageous games in Mussourie in 2010 including various other games’ competitions.
He extensively campaigned in the state elections as well but always remained actively associated with shooting giving adequate training to the para shooters finally appointed as the coach in Tokyo Paralympics resulting in bringing laurels for the country by winning five medals lauded by president Ram Nath Kovind, prime minister Narendra Modi and union sports minister Anurag Thakur etc.
Lauding the sports policy of the government in Paralympics games shooting coach Subhash Rana said that lot more needs to be done for the Paralympics athletes including shooters to impart them best training including appointment of extremely good coaches of international standards.
Subhash Rana thanked prime minister Narendra Modi for meeting the paralympic athletes before and after the games, inspiring them tremendously by enhancing their spirits and morale wholeheartedly.
He catagorically said that participants in future Olympics and Paralympics need to be constantly trained with best trainers and coaches and the government should concentrate on appointment of best coaches as the competition is going to be more tough and challenging in the future.
He lauded the Paralympics shooters for their outstanding and exemplary performance bringing five medals in Paralympics shooting and pledged to bring the second line shooters in the first line by the dint of hard work, determination, sincerety and commitment.
He also hoped that the government will render best possible support to the para shooters initially as they are rewarded after bringing medals for the nation.
