CM Dhami to meet PM, HM, Party chief and defence minister. Says women empowerment, rural development and employment core issues of his government

After formally assuming the charge as the 11 th chief minister of Uttarakhand and successfully pacifying his detractors within the party, Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday came to national capital territory of Delhi to meet prime minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, party chief J P Nadda. He will also meet the Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari who’s his earlier boss, when he served as his OSD during his tenure of 122 days as chief minister of Uttarakhand. The Maharashtra Governor is in Delhi these days who’d played a pivotal role in recommending his name for the chief minister’s post when the central party high command sought his advise say reliable sources.

The chief minister will extend his gracious thanks and gratitude to PM, HM, defence minister n J.P. Nadda for giving him such an important responsibility despite being just 45 years old leaving behind several heavy weight senior leaders.

He will also seek their blessings and put forward his various proposals pertaining to the state’s development and some significant decisions his government is contemplating to take, in view of the fast approaching elections.

The most pivotal reason for his urgent Delhi visit is about the KAANVAD YATRA as just yesterday the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh has telephonically interacted with Uttarakhand CM asking him to accord permission to Kaanwadiyas to Haridwar to fetch pious Ganges water, despite the fact that Haridwar Mahakumbh has proved to be the biggest Super spreader of Covid 19 during the month of April when about 60 lakh pilgrims, saints n seers bathed in the river throwing to winds all Covid regulations.

It is believed that the Uttarakhand CM who is against the KAANWAD YATRA is under tremendous pressure due to Yogi Adityanath’s pressure. He has approached Delhi to seek the orders of the union home minister n other leaders including prime minister whether to hold the KAANWAD YATRA OR STOP IT as already decided by the previous Uttarakhand CM. Every year about four crores Kaanvadiyaas visit Haridwar and Gangotri to fetch Ganga Jal water from various parts of the country.

The state government’ s power minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat has recently taken a decision to distribute free electricity to the consumers of Uttarakhand up to 100 units on monthly basis and 50% concession to those who consume 100 to 200 units every month, copying AAM Admi Party.

The proposal is being formulated to be passed by the assembly. The CM may also seek the central leaders’ approval on such pro people proposals. However, it is not known, for how many days will he stay put in Delhi.

Meanwhile the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has started meeting people at his official residence since Friday morning. In a series of tweets the chief minister revealed : Today, gave a patient hearing to people at the Jan Darshan hall at my residence. On this occasion I directed the senior officials of various departments to immediately resolve grievances related to drinking water, health, financial compensation issues and roads, and report back to me.

Assuring about the commitment of his government to try hard resolve, all the grievances of the people he added that Women empowerment will be on priority in his agenda. We have taken several decisions in this regard and will always be proactive in this regard said Dhami. He further tweeted that he will ensure that rural development , women empowerment and employment remain his government’s core issues to be resolved in the near future.

Meanwhile, the chief of Congress in Uttarakhand Pritam Singh has ridiculed the proposal of granting concessions on electricity tariffs by the BJP government equating this announcement as mere rhetoric asking what has happened to the rhetorics of prime minister Narendra Modi regarding bringing back black money from foreign banks, giving two crore jobs annually, depositing 15 lakhs in everybody’s bank account and Ache Din Ayenge promise etc.

Similarly making mockery of the recent proposal of BJP govt to give free electricity up to 100 units veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat tweeted in Hindi: Why only 100 units? The govt of double engine can provide 200 units free. People will feel good. First deliver power to consumers with 24 hours power cut n then also peep into the account of Power corporation, indicating that how can bankrupt power corporation give free electricity. It may be recalled that Uttarakhand government is having a massive fiscal deficit of about more than 45000 crores n the annual interests to financial agencies comes to about 7 thousand crores.
