40 Children (who are engaged in child labor in different sectors) from remote locations of 17 states of India travelled to Delhi to participate in a National Consultation on the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour. On the eve of the National Consultation (which is organized by Campaign Against Child Labour (CACL) with support of terre des hommes Germany India Programme and GIZ.), they will get an opportunity to interact with members of Media Fraternity. These children have a childhood which is quite different from many other children of their country. They work/earn to support/run their families. The children are in the age group of 8- 17 years, working in mica, coal and stone mines, brick kilns, agriculture, textile, cloth shops and home based work such as making handicrafts or packing of things. They will discuss their situation, dreams, thoughts, ideas, prepare a charter of aspirations and share it in the form of dance, songs, stories, newspapers making, drawings etc.
These children are sure that they don’t want to work. They firmly believe that their parents or adult brothers and sisters must get employment. They strongly say we are not the future we are the present. They claim their rights now and it will be very late if we will keep talking about the future only. They are busy in framing their charter of aspirations which they are going to share Member of Parliament, former Judge of Supreme Court of India, Chairperson, Delhi Commission for protection of Child Rights, representatives of trade union, academia, UNICEF and ILO on 12th of June at India International Centre.
Campaign Against child labor (CACL) which was established in 1992 as a network of NGOs and civil society organizations to combat child labor at International, national, state, and local levels. Since then, it has been advocating for complete eradication of child labor in all its forms up to 18 years of age in line with UNCRC and National Policy for Children, 2013 and emphasize on Free and Compulsory education for children. dinated and synergized efforts by multi-layered stakeholders, including civil society organizations, State mechanisms, private sector players, academia, media, community, citizens, and children are important towards addressing the violation of child rights and coming up with innovative solutions. Today, around 18 state chapters of CACL exist and are actively playing a role to eradicate child labor.
Every year 30th April is marked as the National Child Labour Day in India to remind ourselves of the efforts and impetus required to make India Child Labour Free. On the 12th of June, the World Day against Child Labour, nations across the globe come together to pledge for a Child Labour Free world! The Campaign against Child Labour (CACL) has been using the period between these two dates to draw more focused attention to the situation of child labour in the country and provide spaces to children, their caregivers, governments and civil society organisations to deliberate on key concerns and the way forward. This is a 44 days’ campaign called #ChildLabourFreeIndia initiated by CACL this year again which started from 30th April, 2022, followed by a series of state level processes and social media events with children and adults, which will culminate on the occasion of International Day Against Child Labour (12th June, 2022) in New Delhi.
विश्व बाल श्रम निषेध दिवस के अवसर पर भारत के 17 राज्यों के दूरस्थ स्थानों से 40 बच्चे (जो विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में बाल श्रम में लिप्त हैं) एक राष्ट्रीय परामर्श में भाग लेने के लिए दिल्ली आए। नेशनल कंसल्टेशन की पूर्व संध्या पर (जो कि कैम्पेन अगेंस्ट चाइल्ड लेबर (सीएसीएल) द्वारा टेरे डेस होम्स जर्मनी इंडिया प्रोग्राम और जीआईजेड के सहयोग से आयोजित किया गया है), उन्हें मीडिया समुदाय के सदस्यों के साथ बातचीत करने का अवसर मिलेगा। इन बच्चों का बचपन, अपने देश के कई अन्य बच्चों से काफी अलग है। वे काम करते हैं / अपने परिवार को समर्थन देने के लिए /अपना परिवार को चलाने के लिए कमाते हैं। आयोजन मे हिस्सा लेने वाले बच्चे 8-17 वर्ष की आयु के हैं, जो अभ्रक, कोयला और पत्थर की खदानों मे, ईंट भट्टों, कृषि, कपड़ा, कपड़े की दुकानों और पारिवारिक व्यवसायों जैसे हस्तशिल्प बनाने या चीजों की पैकिंग का काम करते हैं। आयोजन मे बच्चे अपनी स्थिति, सपनों, विचारों, आकांक्षाओं को एक – दूसरे के साथ सांझा करेगे ओर अपनी आकांषाओं का एक चार्टर तैयार करेंगे और उसे नृत्य, गीत, कहानियां, समाचार पत्र, चित्र आदि के रूप में साझा करेंगे। इन बच्चों को यकीन है कि वे काम नहीं करना चाहते हैं। बच्चों की यह मांग है कि उनके माता-पिता या वयस्क भाइयों और बहनों को रोजगार अवश्य मिलना चाहिए। वे दृढ़ता से कहते हैं कि हम भविष्य नहीं हैं, बल्कि हम वर्तमान हैं। वे अभी अपने अधिकारों का दावा करते हैं और बहुत देर हो जाएगी अगर हम भविष्य के बारे में ही बात करते रहेंगे। वे अपनी आकांक्षाओं के चार्टर को तैयार करने में व्यस्त हैं, जिसे वे 12 तारीख को संसद सदस्य, भारत के सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के पूर्व न्यायाधीश, अध्यक्ष, दिल्ली बाल अधिकार संरक्षण आयोग, ट्रेड यूनियन, अकादमिक, यूनिसेफ और आईएलओ के प्रतिनिधियों को साझा करने इंडिया इंटरनेशनल सेंटर में सांझा करेगे |
बाल श्रम के खिलाफ अभियान (CACL) जिसे 1992 में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय, राष्ट्रीय, राज्य और स्थानीय स्तरों पर बाल श्रम का विरोध करने के लिए गैर सरकारी संगठनों और नागरिक समाज संगठनों के एक नेटवर्क के रूप में स्थापित किया गया था। तब से, यह यू. एन. सी. आर. सी. और बच्चों के लिए राष्ट्रीय नीति, 2013 के अनुरूप 18 वर्ष की आयु तक बाल श्रम के सभी रूपों में पूर्ण उन्मूलन की वकालत कर रहा है | और बच्चों के लिए मुफ्त और अनिवार्य शिक्षा पर जोर देता है। नागरिक समाज संगठनों, राज्य तंत्रों, निजी क्षेत्र के प्रतिनिधियों, शिक्षाविदों, मीडिया, समुदाय, नागरिकों और बच्चों सहित बहु-स्तरीय हितधारकों द्वारा समन्वित और समन्वित प्रयास बाल अधिकारों के उल्लंघन को संबोधित करने और नवीन समाधानों के साथ आने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण हैं। आज, सीएसीएल के लगभग 18 राज्य अध्याय मौजूद हैं और बाल श्रम के उन्मूलन के लिए सक्रिय रूप से भूमिका निभा रहे हैं।
भारत को बाल श्रम मुक्त बनाने के लिए आवश्यक प्रयासों और प्रोत्साहन की याद दिलाने के लिए हर साल 30 अप्रैल को भारत में राष्ट्रीय बाल श्रम दिवस के रूप में चिह्नित किया जाता है। बाल श्रम के खिलाफ विश्व भर मे 12 जून को बाल श्रम मुक्त दिवस मनाया जाता है। बाल श्रम के खिलाफ अभियान (CACL) इन दो तिथियों के बीच की अवधि का उपयोग देश में बाल श्रम की स्थिति पर अधिक ध्यान आकर्षित करने और बच्चों, उनकी देखभाल करने वालों, सरकारों और नागरिक समाज संगठनों को प्रमुख चिंताओं पर विचार-विमर्श करने के लिए स्थान प्रदान करता है, और आगे के लिए सुझाव भी प्रस्तावित करता है । यह 44 दिनों का अभियान है, जिसे #ChildLabourFreeIndia कहा जाता है, जिसे इस साल फिर से CACL द्वारा शुरू किया गया, जो 30 अप्रैल, 2022 से शुरू हुआ, जिसके बाद बच्चों और वयस्कों के साथ राज्य स्तरीय प्रक्रियाओं और सोशल मीडिया कार्यक्रमों की एक श्रृंखला शुरू हुई, जिसका समापन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस के अवसर पर बाल श्रम के खिलाफ (12 जून, 2022) नई दिल्ली में होगा ।
