Chief minister Dhami issues directives to prepare DPR of Tehri Lake Project in 3 months, worth 1200 crores to make it a global tourist spot
The Uttarakhand chief minister is extremely mobile since the day he was sworn in as the 11 th chief minister of Uttarakhand.
It is believed that he will be the BJP’s political face in the ensuing election along with the prime minister Narendra Modi.
He was in New Tehri and Tehri Jheel meeting cross sections of the people making several announcements to please the voters of Tehri Garhwal district.
On Saturday, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami issued directives to Wepcos company to prepare the DPR within three months in order to make the Tehri Lake one if the best tourists spot at the global level not only to entice tourists from all over the country but also from various countries of the world.
There are indications that not only will the Tehri Lake entice tourists from different countries of the globe but will also play a vital role in providing employment to youngers and local populace on a wide scale.
On Saturday the chief minister visited the Koti Colony at Tehri Lake as well as floating huts and the newly constructed long awaited Dobra Chanti bridge. The Uttarakjand’s former chief Jushire Upadhyay and the district n block Congress presidents submitted him a memorandum as well pertaining to several demands of Tehri populace and demanding opening of Chardhan Yatra including decreasing the rent of Boat owners of Tehri lake. The memorandum consisted of 19 point demands.
He also instructed the Webcos company to prepare a DPR in three months time with an investment of Rs 1200 crores in order to make the Tehri Lake one of the best international tourist location with global standards that may not only provide employment to large number of local people but also entice global tourists and those from various states as well, helping the state to earn handsomely strengthening its economy.
The State Agriculture minister Subodh Uniyal, local MLA Dhan, Singh Negi, MLA Ghanshali Shakti Lal Shah, Pratap Nagar MLA Vijay Singh Panwar, Distruct magistrate Iva Ashish Srivastava, senior police officer Tripti Bhatt and tourism high ups were also accompanying the chief minister.
There had been hundreds of such populist announcements by the earlier CMs as well and the hard fact is that the state is running a massive fiscal deficit of Rs 65000 crores.
The political analysts like Govind Gopal from Danya, Kumaun, Uttarakhand says that these populist announcements are no less than mere rhetorics and gimmicks especially when elections are just four months ahead and the code of conduct is likely to be issued shortly.
Everyone, knows that for the implementation of any government scheme or project minimum six months are absorbed especially when several earlier announcements by CMs have still not been implement at the ground levels. People are rather terming these announcements as ridiculous rather than taking them seriously say political analysts. I fondly remember that in 2013 after the dreaded ecological disaster in Kedarghati, the then CM Vijay Bahuguna had made several such announcements including rehabilitation and reconstruction of about two hundred affected villages during this deluge. Since than seven years have elapsed and not a single village has been shifted from risk zone n victims rehabilitated.
