Chief election strategist of Congress Harish Rawat rates Dhami as the most cordial CM but claims Congress is winning on 48 seats.
While election results are just two weeks away to be declared on 10 th March, the news analysts and leaders of two major parties viz Congress n BJP which ruled the state during the last twenty two years alternatively are leaving no stone unturned to claim forming their respective governments in Uttarakhand. While the current caretaker CM youthful, full of energy and enthusiasm Pushkar Singh Dhami maintains that the saffron party is returning on the saddle of power again, winning more than sixty seats, the chief election strategist of Congress n former CM Harish Rawat states that their party is getting more that forty five seats assuring of a clean and efficient government which would not be vindictive but also maintain smooth relationship with the central government. However, another Congress leader and former cabinet minister who joined Congress after being expelled from BJP, Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, still admits that prime minister Narendra Modi’s charisma and craze existed during the Uttarakhand election. Sounds like embarassing the Congress party, despite his claims that Congress is forming the government by all means as the anti incumbency was tremendous in Uttarakhand due to the voters being badly annoyed with the sitting lawmakers of BJP for their non performance. Meanwhile, the former Uttarakhand CM and the arch rival of BJP Harish Rawat has today surprised one and all when be appreciated the Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami as the a cordial chief minister with sober and affable nature, claiming that Congress is winning by 48 seats. He also assured that his government will not be vindictive against the BJP n his political rivals and work for the welfare and well being of all sections of the society, irrespective of vindictive attitude. It may be recalled that though publicly on various forums during campaigning Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami had ridiculed Harish Rawat as a non entity in state politics who has not been recognised and named as the prospective CM candidate of Congress despite his best efforts and changing his seats like a football from Ram Nagar to Lalkuan etc. He had accused Rawat of a non recognisable leader by his own central High command considered as a non serious leader. Similarly Rawat too had ridiculed him as a CM without experience, childish in taking decisions and a political novice. But according to reliable sources both these leaders have tremendous respect for each other and were in deep understanding not to hold any public meeting or campaign in their respective constituencies. Though the Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi campaigned through a well attended public meeting in Khatima but Congress leader Harish Rawat never visited Khatima to pose a political danger to Dhami. Similarly while Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed several meetings in various constituencies of Garhwal and Kumaon in favour of his party candidate he was conspicuous by his absence in Lalkuan from where Harish Rawat was the Congress candidate. Sounds astonishing and surprising. Political analysts say that had Harish Rawat and Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Khatima and Lalkuan assembly constituencies both these leaders of BJP n Congress would have been in real jeopardy, but it never happened. This unambiguously speaks of the fact that it may be allegedly an internal mutual arrangement n understanding between both these former and present CMs. However, the fact remains that the prime minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and several CMs of other states like Assam CM Hemant Biswa Sarma and MP CM Shivraj Singh n union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari have openly and publicly targetted Harish Rawat with allegations of appeasement towards the minority community like granting holiday on Jumme ki namaz, assurance to establish a muslim university etc. Veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat is still meeting media men in Dehradun and incessantly maintaining a tempo in media about Congress coming to power by all means but has withdrawn his earlier statement catagorically clarifying that the next CM of Congress would be decided by the party high command and whosoever is named would be acceptable to him.
Harish Rawat and Dhami are making mokery of the election discipline by not keeping the sanctity of the post once held or being held presently.
