Delhi Congress to Hold Dialogue on the Challenges Faced by Small Publications

New Delhi – On the occasion of the 45th Foundation Day of the renowned national Hindi daily Rashtra Times, a special courtesy meeting and felicitation ceremony was organized, during which Rashtra Times Editor and senior journalist Shri Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi called upon Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Shri Devender Yadav at his office in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Shri Chaturvedi presented Shri Yadav with a specially published souvenir, a memento, and a shawl as a mark of honour. In return, Shri Devender Yadav graciously accepted the gesture and commended the Rashtra Times for its 45-year journey of fearless and public-interest-driven journalism. He particularly praised Shri Chaturvedi’s five-decade-long commitment to honest, unbiased, and courageous reporting. “In a democracy, the role of journalists is pivotal,” Shri Yadav said, “and Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi is a living example of journalistic integrity, who has always upheld truth and public interest, regardless of pressure.”

During the interaction, Shri Chaturvedi also drew attention to the pressing issues and challenges faced by small and medium-sized newspapers. He elaborated that in today’s digital era, while large media houses enjoy the support of corporate sponsorships, smaller newspapers are struggling with financial hardships, discrimination in advertisement allocation, and limited access to technological infrastructure.

Recognizing the gravity of these concerns, Shri Devender Yadav assured that a dedicated dialogue session would soon be organized by the Delhi Congress, involving editors of small and regional newspapers to understand their problems and explore concrete solutions.

The meeting was also attended by Shri Anil Bhardwaj, Head of the Communication Department of the Delhi Congress and former MLA, who applauded Rashtra Times for its contribution to public discourse. “Such newspapers,” he said, “have always played a critical role in shaping public opinion and bringing grassroots issues to light.”

This ceremony was not merely a moment of felicitation, but a symbol of shared values — journalism, public engagement, and the democratic spirit. It represented a bridge between the media and political leadership, committed to upholding the voice of the common people.
