Chattisgarh CM arrives at Dehradun on Congress high command’s directive. Both BJP and Congress ready for counting results
As the countdown begins and hardly few hours are left before the counting commences in all the five states of the country today morning, yesterday late evening the Chattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has arrived in Uttarakhand to monitor the political situation of Congress during and after the election results. He rushed to Dehradun stepping out of his plane at Jollygrant airport received by several Congress leaders including the state Congress working president and former minister in Uttarakhand government during Narayan Dutt Tiwari tenure Shoorvir Singh Sajwan. Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel was directed to reach Dehradun by the Congress high command. There are credible reports that the Chattisgarh CM has been assigned the major responsibility to take care of the winning Congress lawmakers and if need be ferry them to Chattisgarh under his special care, apprehensive of its lawmakers allegedly being hijacked by the opposite party BJP in the event of the Congress not getting much seats or getting a wafer thin majority. The arrival of Bhupesh Singh Baghel in the evening of 9 th just few hours before unambiguously speaks of the very fact that the Congress party does not want to take any chances having already suffered a huge setback in 2016 when 11 of its MLAs have defected to BJP, destabilising the then Congress government led by none other than Harish Rawat. After the arrival of two trouble shooters of BJP at Dehradun viz Kailash Vijayvargiya and Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former union minister and CM Uttarakhand earlier ditching his own boss former CM Major General ( R) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri with Kailash Vijay vargiya active in 2016, 2017 as well behind the curtain, the Congress high command and former CM Harish Rawat, himself a victim earlier have expressed apprehensions of the Congress lawmakers being allegedly influenced n therefore not to take any chances, any more. There are news reports that the Congress party is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that its all MLAs after their victory would be transported safely to either Chattisgarh Or Rajasthan, where there governments exist. On the other hand BJP top party leaders too are stationed at Dehradun in good numbers not only to encourage its party cadre but also to keep a close and vigilant eye on the Congress leaders and its every possible strategy.
