FORMER GHS PRESIDENT MANMOHAN BUDAKOTI PASSES AWAY. RIP

A former president of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha, the largest representative social organisation active in Delhi , renowned social activist and a jeweller by profession Man-mohan Budakoti has breathed his last this afternoon. He was undergoing chemotherapy few days and was confident of his speedy recovery.

His sudden passing away has send shock waves in Uttarakhand Delhi and NCR circles.

He was not to be seen for the last few months in the activities of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha.

A socially committed activist with affable and helpful nature , soft spoken Manmohan Budakoti had also started an award for Uttarakhand’s literary figures , poets and authors and every year a distinguished intellectual of repute used to be awarded for his/ her outstanding contribution in literature, story book writing or Poetries.

His late father Budakoti too was highly respected by people of Uttarakhand community in Delhi as he was extremely helpful in selling them gold and silver ornaments on instalments making them convenient to buy ornaments on marriage occasions for their sons and daughters.

He maintained his credibility as a reputed jeweller. His son Manmohan Budakoti continued there after. His father and he lateron continued their business operation from their house at Vivekanand Colony, near Pratap Nagar, Delhi.

I vividly remember that after his father’s death a dacoity was committed at his house and the family suffered a huge loss in which it lost precious jewelry, cash and registers etc which had mentioned details about the amount of the creditors.

Budakoti suffered this huge loss as he couldn’t recover the pending amount from the customers due to his late father and himself. Despite all this he generously donated and enthused the Garhwal Uttarakhand’s intellectuals by recognising their services organising a good even in Delhi or Garhwal, Uttarakhand.

His sudden passing away is indeed a great loss to his fraternity and Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha.

His funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 1.30 PM at Nigambodh Ghat, Delhi. Om. Shanti
