As the Uttarakhand elections are nearing, the politics of ” AAYA RAM GAYA RAM”, is dominating the scene in the Himalayan state with competition going on between both the national parties BJP n Congress to engineer defections and admit the defectors in their respective parties in order to claim they are the best.
Today, after admitting three MLAs, two independent and one from Congress in BJP in a month’s time, the saffron party suffered a huge setback when one of his ministers Yashpal Arya and his MLA son from Nainital have defected in Congress party, joining it at the All India Congress Committee headquarter in New Delhi.

The cabinet minister of Uttarakhand and MLA from Bajpur and his son lawmaker from Nainital were heartily welcomed and admitted in Congress at 24 Akbar Road by the chief party spokesman n general secretary AICC Randeep Singh Surjewala, senior general secretary K. C. Venugopal, Secretary n incharge Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav in the presence of the former CM, Uttarakhand Harish Rawat, leader of opposition Pritam Singh, and Uttarakhand Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal.
Before, officially joining the Congress party, both father son dua MLAs, cabinet minister Yashpal Arya and his son Sanjeev Arya also met Rahul Gandhi showing their loyalty again after defecting to BJP in 2017 and posed for a photograph at AICC headquarter 24 Abbar Road with him and the Uttarakhand leaders.

Kindly recall that the three MLAs Pritam Singh Panwar, from Dhanaulty, Rajkumar from Purola and Ram Singh Kaira from Bhimtal had joined BJP in Delhi welcomed by union minister Smriti Irani and Rajya Sabha MP and national spokesman Anil Baluni in BJP within a month’s time claiming that many more are to follow suit from Congress but today’s entry of its cabinet minister in Congress with his son MLA Sanjeev Arya is in fact a huge rebuff to the saffron party say political analysts.
Both father, son duo hail from dalit community and had defected to Congress in 2017 when Yashpal Arya, former Uttarakhand Congress chief was the minister in Harish Rawat government.
After the entry of father son duo, both MLAs as well, there had been bursting of crackers in Dehradun Congress office in jubilation with Congress leaders saying that the BJP’s days of its defeat at the hustings have commenced after two powerful MLAs joining their party in a single go with many more to follow in the near future.
Kindly recall that in Punjab the Congress high command has recently made a dalit it’s chief minister and Harish Rawat has few days, ago announced in a public meeting at Haridwar about his hearty wish to see a dalit CM in Uttarakhand in future creating ripples in Congress circles with the outgoing party chief Pritam Singh considered to be the bete noire of Harish Rawat ridiculing Rawat that what about in 2012 n thereafter nominating a Dalit CM, when he was the CM of the state.
