Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi in real mess. Depends, whether the cabinet committee takes unanimous decision to grant permission to register corruption case in disproportionate assets case against him or not ?
The Uttarakhand cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi is in real mess. The judge of the vigilance court of Uttarakhand has held him responsible for amassing enough wealth disproportionate to the known sources of income. According to the latest news report the vigilance court has now handed over this case to Investigation Report Court. Now the ball lies in the court of Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and it remains to be seen whether the cabinet decision comes against the cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi by granting permission to the court to register formal case against the minister under serious corruption charges pertaining to the disproportionate assets to his known source of income. A case against the cabinet minister for possessing excessive wealth against his known sources of income was filed against Ganesh Joshi by an advocate of guts and gumption Vikesh Negi who is based in Dehradun. The advocate had also exposed the mayor of Dehradun under similar charges and Vikesh Negi was sent out of the state for several months. However, now he is back. While filing his RTI and the case against the minister for possession of assets more than the known sources of income , the advocate Vikesh Negi has made the declaration of the wealth, income and assets minister during the 2022 assembly election as the main basis. While disclosing his assets and income the minister has declared Rs 9 crores worth of assets and income to which the advocate Vikesh Negi has said that he has while being minister has drawn a salary of Rs. 35 lakhs and had no other source of income, than how come has he amassed the wealth of worth Rs. 9 crores. According to Vikesh Negi, when during the last 15 years in his capacity as the MLA and minister , Ganesh Joshi has filed return of Rs 35 lakhs drawn as salary and other perks how come that he has purchased assets worth Rs. 9 crores asked the advocate. As a result the special vigilance court judge Manish Mishra had heard the case on September 2 and had taken the supreme court decision as NAZEER saying that it will give the time of three months before taking any credible decision on this case. This time limit will come to an end on 8 th October. He directed the government to send to the court whatever decision the cabinet committee takes on this matter whether to try the minister and register a formal case of corruption for disproportionate assets against him or set him free. Since Ganesh Joshi is a cabinet minister the decision of the cabinet committee chaired by the CM for granting permission is mandatory.
