Cabinet committee chaired by UK CM cancels five recruitment exams to be conducted by UKSSSC. Now SSC will conduct the recruitment exams !
After the much hyped recruitment, cheating and paper leaked scam of Uttarakhand and subsequent mass protests at Rudraprayag, Dehradun n other parts of the state, a cabinet committee meeting chaired by Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took a significant decision on Friday in connection with the UKSSSC examinations. The cabinet committee also took several other decisions other than the commission. According to the latest news the five recruitment examinations to various posts to be conducted by the UKSSSC has now been revoked and instead of this commission, now the State Service Commission will conduct the examinations for seven thousand posts. The important decision of the cabinet committee cancelling five examinations to be conducted by UKSSSC included about 700 posts. These posts are of workshop instructors, drivers, fishery inspectors, police rankers, n police head constable ( communications) etc. The chief minister had last week catagorically assured that in view of the ongoing scam the government will ensure that the interest of the youths and aspirants would be fully protected. He had also said that the government will bring transparency in the appointment process by conducting the recruitment exams through State Public Service Commission instead of UKSSSC which is these days under question after the recruitment n cheating scam coming to light. The government led by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is under tremendous pressure after this scam and is trying his best to ensure that the guilty in this scam are not spared at any costs. The chairman of the commission Mr. Raju had already resigned and the secretary Santosh Badooni suspended for laxity n negligence. More than thirty arrests have been made so far in this scam. The cabinet committee apart from the above decision also took several other important decisions, some of which are viz the govt has commenced a scheme of bring bills and get reward in order to encourage GST in the state. This decision was taken with regard to the financial department’s GST promotion. A decision was also taken pertaining to Housing development Board ( Department) under which while constructing a 500 square metres’ residential building the bylaws of either central govt or state govt will have to be adhered to. Fifty percent vacant costs of principals of government inter colleges to be filled by conducting the written exams. Five Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Schools will be run under Society mode. The remaining construction, renovations works to be executed by the previous agencies. Decisions have also been arrived at to construct Sainik Schools in Uttarakhand for which dicussions will be held for land n building etc.
