Uttarakhand has become synonymous with accidents and not a day is passed without accidents taking place here and there and majority of them fatal. Yet today a bus turned down in an accident injuring several passengers.

Today, a bus traveling from Kotdwar to Toludanda lost control and overturned near Harpal. Several people were seriously injured in the accident.

This incident is extremely tragic and concerning. The condition of this road has been deteriorating for a long time, but the concerned department has not taken any concrete steps to repair it. Despite repeated warnings and complaints, this negligence continues. The Uttarakhand Congress leader asked : For how long will people continue to risk their lives traveling on these broken roads? Is the department waiting for a major accident?

I urge the administration and the Public Works Department to immediately repair this road to prevent such accidents in the future.
