The committee’s CEO, Vijay Thapliyal, has been terminated from his deputation with immediate effect and he has been returned to his parent department—the Agricultural Produce Market Committee.
Vijay Thapliyal, who assumed charge of BKTC on July 29, 2024, has been mired in controversy during his tenure. For some time, infighting and lack of coordination within the committee have been evident. Administrative work, particularly between the chairman and CEO, has been hampered, directly impacting systems.
This government decision is being seen as a clear signal that strict measures are being taken to improve the system at BKTC.
