BJP releases its first list of 195 candidates. Three sitting MPs repeated in Uttarakhand. Suspense on Pauri and Haridwar seats !
Congress tickets final for 3 out of 5 Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand Congress candidate from Lok Sabha seat Almora - Sanjeev Arya Nainital - Bhuvan Chandra Kapri Haridwar- Harish Rawat
The Bharatiya Janata Party has today declared its first list of candidates . The list also included the name of prime minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi, union defence minister Rajnath Singh from Lucknow , Smritee Irani from Amethi and film star Hema Malini from Mathura. The candidates on all the 80 seats of Uttar Pradesh have been declared. The list comprises of 195 candidates. From Uttarakhand three names have been cleared out of five parliamentary constituencies from Uttarakhand repeating state minister of defence and tourism n MP from Nainital – Udham Singh Nagar parliamentary constituency Ajay Bhatt, Maharani Rajya Lakshmi from Tehri Garhwal and Ajay Tamata, former state textile minister and MP from Almora ( Reserve). However, the names of two candidates from Garhwal and Haridwar constituencies have been kept on hold which clearly indicates that the central high command of BJP is giving a serious thought over these two seats whether to repeat the sitting MPs or to change them. If we believe the speculations over these two seats then the candidatures of the sitting MP and former CM Tirath Singh Rawat and Dr.Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank , former CM, HRD minister n MP from Haridwar Dr.Nishank are at stake. There were reports about these two seats being changed in view of the anti incumbency at the constituency level and mood of the people to change them. It is believed that not only these MPs have allegedly been absent from their constituencies but they couldn’t spend much of their MP lad funds on various developmental projects. Both the sitting MPs are first timers from these constituencies respectively and the names of Anil Baluni, former Rajya Sabha MP and former CM, Uttarakhand Tirath Singh Rawat are doing rounds in political corridors and media circles from Pauri Garhwal and Haridwar constituencies. The former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat is considered to be in close proximity to union home minister Amit Shah while Anil Baluni is in good books of PM and HM both having played a pivotal role in enhancing party’s image being the national media in-charge. His non – repetition from Rajya Sabha after his term to expire in April unambiguously indicate that he is being considered to contest and bring victory for BJP from Pauri Garhwal. Sources reveal that Anil Baluni has been asked to contest from Pauri Garhwal and he has recently allocated Rs 15 crores from his MP lad fund for the construction of a mountain stadium and a planetarium at Pauri. Earlier too he had arranged n imported oxygen cylinders in large numbers n Oxigenators during the Covid times including allocating funds for starting ICUs in various hospitals in the interiors of Garhwal and efforts for opening a Tata Cancer hospital.
