BJP list of 59 candidates declared, Doiwala seat held up from where T. S. Rawat has expressed his unwillingness to contest. Kotdwar ticket also not declared falling vacant after Dr Rawat’s expulsion. Ritu Khanduri n 9 other lawmakers lose their tickets

Taking the lead compared to it’s main rival Congress party the Bhartiya Janata Party has declared its tickets for 59 seats out of total seventy seats, thus making absolutely clear that it has no hassles on majority of seats. However, the Doiwala seat in particular held by the former Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has not been declared keeping in view the high command’s final decision after the former CM wrote a letter to Party’s national chief his intention not to contest from this seat expressing his desire to work for the party’s victory by campaigning extensively.

All the sitting ministers have been given tickets from their earlier constituencies viz Satpal Maharaj from Chowbattakhal, Dhan Singh Rawat from Srinagar, Subodh Uniyal from Narendra Nagar, Speaker Prem Chand Aggrawal from Rishikesh, Rekha Arya from Someshwar, Arvind Pandey from Gadarpur, Ganesh Joshi, Mussourie, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami from Khatima.

The former Uttarakhand CM Vijay Bahuguna’s son Saurabh Bahuguna has been given ticket from his old seat Sitarganj. The Mahila Congress chief n former MLA Sarita Arya who had just two days again joined BJP has been given ticket from Nainital reserve seat against the son of former cabinet minister Yashpal Arya, Sanjeev Arya. The father of popular Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal, namely Ram Sharan Nautiyal jas been given ticket from Chakrata. The president of Uttarakhand BJP Madan Kaushik will contest from Haridwar. The held up list of 11 seats have certain sitting MLAs whose ticket seems to be in doldrum like Sahaspur seat held by sitting BJP MLA from Saharanpur.

There were reports that about eleven tickets of sitting lawmakers of BJP are stake against who anti incumbency exists.

The ticket of Ritu Khanduri, daughter of former Chief Minister Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, was cut from the list of 59 candidates released by BJP today. Ritu is the MLA from Yamkeshwar.

The sitting lawmakers of BJP left out this time are Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh Champion, Tharali MLA Magan Lal Shah, Karnprayag MLA Surendra Singh Negi, Yamkeshwar MLA Ritu Khanduri and Pauri MLA Mukesh Singh Koli. Further, tickets were not given to Meena Gangola, MLA from Gangolihat, Kapkot MLA Balwant Singh Bhoryal, Dwarahat MLA Mahesh Singh Negi, Almora MLA Raghunath Singh Chauhan and Kashipur MLA Harbhajan Singh Cheema. There is news about several sitting MLAs denied tickets contesting as independents posing direct threat to the new contesting candidates of BJP.
