Bangladesh Premier Sheikh Hasina resigns, flew to India, was received at Hindon Airbase by NSA Ajit Doval
The Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina has fled the country and landed today at Hindon Airbase, Ghaziabad in view of the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh on reservation issue to the next of the kin of the Bangladesh Mukti Sangharsh Vahini freedom fighters etc.

Sheikh Hasina has resigned before she fled Bangladesh for India. The national security advisor Ajit Doval was already waiting for the Bangladesh PM who received and escorted her to her safe destination from Hindon Airbase. Along with NSA Ajit Doval were top Intelligence and military officials , including Western Air Command Chief Air Marshall Pankaj Mohan Sinha.
According to the latest news, meanwhile, the president of Bangladesh Mohammed Shahbbuddin today released the incarcerated former PM and Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader Khalifa Zia arrested in 2018.
The decision to release her was taken by the opposition party leaders unanimously including the president Mohammed Shahbbuddin said a press statement.
Aged 78 former PM Khalida Zia was jailed in the year 2018 after she was sentenced to to imprisonment for 17 years . She has been in bad health and admitted in hospital for medical treatment.
In view of the ongoing unrest and unstable political situation in Bangladesh, the Indian Airforce has alerted its commanders and staff in the Eastern sector.
After the resignation of the Bangladesh prime minister and her coming to India for now to take refuge in view of the compelling situation due to massive unrest in Bangladesh , the Indian external affairs minister S. Jai Shankar Prasad has met the prime minister and acquainted him of the latest situation and developments in Bangladesh.
The Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi also met the foreign minister and interacted with him to take stock of the developments in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile an urgent meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs chaired by prime minister Narendra Modi was held at the PM residence Lok Kalyan Marg on the ongoing Bangladesh political situation, the massive unrest , resignation of Sheikh Hasina and her arriving in India.
The NSA Ajit Doval who met the Bangladesh PM at Hindon Airbase when she landed here and escorted her to the safest destination in the national capital was also in the meeting along with the union home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh , finance minister Dr. Nirmal Sitaraman, external affairs minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign minister S.Jaishsnkar Prasad, etc. The CCA discussed the Bangladesh critical situation, the takeover of Bangladesh regime by the Army and possibility of safe evacuation of Indian population and the diplomats living there at the earliest.
Keeping in view the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, the senior Border Security Force officers said that he are in regular contact with the Bangladesh Border Guards. At present the situation at the border is within control. There is curfew in Bangladesh and at the Border United Investigation Police posts there is restriction on the movement of traffic.
The union home minister Amit Shah has reiterated that the Indo Bangladesh Borders are completely sealed and special care is being taken to ensure that no refugee from Bangladesh enters Indian territories.
The BSF and other forces manning our borders have been instructed to increase the vigil ensuring that no refugee takes advantage of Bangladesh unrest and enter Indian territories.
In view of the massive unrest in Bangladesh and closing of the Dhaka airport on Monday the Indigo flights going from Chennai to Dhaka have been diverted to Kolkata.
It may be recalled that a massive movement of students and youths fanned widely in Bangladesh against the reservation to the wards/ next of the kins of the Bangladesh Mukti Vahini freedom fighters enacted by the party of Bangabandhu and his daughter Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh.
As a result the Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country . She had today landed at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad where she was received by the Indian NSA Ajit Doval who escorted her to a safe destination while in heavy security ring. According to the news Sheikh Hasina had to resign today and Bangladesh Army Chief announced the new government taking charge!
More than 366 people have been killed in these thirty six days of anti government, anti reservation protests in Bangladesh and hundreds injured with colossal loss to properties worth thousands of crores.
kindly recall that former Bangladesh premier Sheikh Hasina’s daughter lives in Delhi serving as a regional director of WHO and his son living in England. There are reports that she may after settling here for some days may shift to London with his son Sazeeb Wazad Joy. The government of India had fully guaranteed her safety and security. Sheikh Hasina ruled Bangladesh for fifteen protracted years as PM . Now according to her family she has no plans to be in politics further and was advised to flee to India for suitable refuge. She is 77 years old.
In Bangladesh, the resentment and outrage amongst protestors is tremendous with the angry, ferocious and disenchanted students and youths against quota system having killed several policemen and intruded into the official PM Sheikh Hasina residence after a long match looting her personal and official articles, damaging expensive paintings , looting her expensive articles, sarees and even ducks n hens from the kitchen waving them in front of photographers including marching on the road with colourful sarees of the former prime minister and posing for photographs. There is total chaos in Dhaka and entire Bangladesh with the Army taking over the charge to form a combined government of all the opposition parties excluding the ruling Avami league. The jailed former PM, ill and over aged 78 year old Mrs Zia of Awami League and other opposition leaders have been released. The protestors have even climbed on the statue of the father of the nation and smashed it with hammers terming the Sheikh Hasina rule as the regime of Kleptocracy and Oligarchs.
The son of the former PM Sheikh Hasina living in London and her official advisor has declared that her mother will now never return back to Bangladesh as she has left Bangladesh on the insistence of her family members who all are abroad, in India, London and Singapore etc for her safety and security.
Her daughter is in Delhi as regional director of WHO. Her son said that his mother who ruled Bangladesh for fifteen protracted years have done lot for the country, taking charge when it was in financial doldrums, restored a falling nation and turning it into a tiger Bangladesh the strongest country in Asia making it financially viable and strong. Today she is badly anguished for compelling her to flee her own motherland said her son from London.
