Badly annoyed chief election officer conducting GHS election resigns , even from the primary membership of the Garhwal Sabha
The chief election officer/ commissioner of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha Lalit Mohan Dhaundiyal who alongwith other three election officers who were unanimously nominated after the consent in the open general house of GHS called earlier to conduct the elections of the largest representative social organisation in Delhi and NCR has resigned in annoyance and protest after both the contesting parties / panels couldn’t arrive at an amicable settlement in a meeting held with the election officers on 2 nd January morning. Dhaundiyal had been an upright officer while a class one officer in MTNL and an educationist as well working in the field of promoting and encouraging budding meritorious students. A person of impeccable integrity Dhaundiyal has submitted his resignation letter and has also with a heavy heart resigned from the primary membership of the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha for the bad experience and undignified behaviours or attitude of both the parties confronted by him being strictly adamant not to come to agreement to resolve the complex issue. The crux of the matter is that after scrutiny the four election officers conducting the GHS election had after scrutiny cancelled the name of the outgoing president and applicant for the said top post including fifteen others in technical grounds . This resulted in resentment by those whose nominations were cancelled including the outgoing President Ajay Bisht who has this time too filed the nomination for the presidentship. After his name’s rejection his rival Surat Singh whose papers were found in order was the only candidate left , obviously meaning that he would have been elected unopposed. The outgoing president Ajay Bisht strongly resented saying that the elections scrutiny process was not carried out properly, nor they informed till date the reasons behind the cancellation of their nomination papers which is anti constitutional and illegal. He also levelled charges against US Negi, assistant election officer for favouring his son who is contesting for the post of Sports secretary , thus cancelling the nomination of B.S.Negi applicant ( candidate) from Bisht’s panel.
Bisht had already submitted a letter in Hindi to the election officers objecting to US Negi being the assistant election officer and his son contesting for the sport’s secretary’s post. Bisht says that they should have been given the opportunity to correct the technical wirings than cancelling their nominations, which in any case never happens.
Kindly recall that today a meeting of both the panels was called by the election officers of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha headed by Mr.Dhaundiyal in which after hearing both the parties an exercise was made to reassess the documents and correct the minor technical faults etc in order to arrive at an amicable settlement but since the opposite party was adamant wanting to maintain the status quo since scrutiny was the last and final decision of the officers, the annoyed chief election commissioner Mr.Dhaundiyal abruptly resigned from the post of election Commissioner including the primary membership of Garhwal Hiteshi Sabha hoping that a new general house would be called and fresh decision taken to conduct the elections from a new and fresh angle or the concerned parties may approach courts etc. The resignation letter of Mr. Dhaundiyal below is self explanatory.
