Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkishan exempted from personal appearance in Supreme Court
Baba Ram Dev, the self styled Yoga Guru and all in all of Patanjali Yogpeeth and its managing director Acharya Balkishan are the happiest men today as the two judge bench of Supreme Court comprising of Justice Hima Kohli and Amanullah Ahsannuddin hearing their case gave them relief by exempting them to appear in the next hearings including lauding their new advertisements and its language by terming them as highly improved version of the earlier small advertisements seeking public apology. Justice Amanullah said I don’t know the second apology is in whose vetting but there has been marked improvement and we feel good about it. We appreciate as we feel they have understood their mistakes and sought apologies.
In the previous apology the names of Baba Ram Dev and Acharya Balkishan were missing pointed out justice Amanullah adding that since now, the names have come in, we appreciate it said justice Amanullah.
Kindly recall that the Indian Medical Council has filed a case in Supreme Court against the smear campaign of Patanjali company and its “Karta Dharta” sole owners BABA Ram Dev and Acharya Balkishan by way of advertisements in news papers and all the major television news channels claiming to be the sole healer of all the critical illnesses including diabetes, cardiac ailments cancer, blood pressure etc and degrading the allopathic medicines by undervaluing them.
Their campaign was also against the corona virus vaccination and modern medicines ( allopathy).
The Patanjali company had in the name of being the only super healer of dreaded corona virus disease including diabetes, Blood pressure etc have earned massively especially during Covid times through Coronil and other related Patanjali Ayurvedic products.
The court got annoyed and has taken a serious view of Patanjali Company issuing them the notice to publish advertisements of the size of earlier full page advertisements seeking public apologies. However, on not doing so the court against lashed at Ramdev asking to republish the bigger advertisements seeking apologies publicly.
On 23 rd November the Patanjali company’s MD Acharya Balkishan has given a written undertaking to the court in an affidavit pledging not to violate the court orders related to the advertisements termed as misleading by the Court including non issuance of any statement in future but Baba Ramde held a press conference amounting to contempt by the Supreme Court. The two judge bench finally issued notices to both Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkishan to appear before them asking as to why contempt proceedings can’t be initiated against them for violating the court’s directives.
