Authors Guild of India felicitates journalists, educationists, thinkers and intellectuals at PGDAV college

The President of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum Author and Senior Journalist Sunil Negi was today felicitated at PG DAV College by veteran journalist, author and former editor of India Today, Jansatta, Mumbai and Amar Ujala in a seminar cum felicitation function where senior journalists Govind Singh, Charu Tiwari, Pradeep Vedwal, young poet Neeraj Baawri, Principal of PGDAV college Mr. Gupta, leading Professor of Media journalism Mr. Kuthiyal from Chandigarh. Mr Virk former DG n Attorney General, Mr Jaggi, senior advocate Supreme Court, Additional Director,Rajya Sabha, Meenaksi, Dangwal and former DG and Mahesh Chandra, eminent Uttarakhand social activist Mahesh Chandra, Vinod Nautiyal of Himalaya Bachao Andolan n Mr. Mallikarjunji, an environmentalist, formerly a JNU student etc were felicitated with Rashtriya Gaurav and Dilli Gaurav Awards for their outstanding contribution in journalism and social activism, academics and research n development etc.

A seminar on India becoming a world leader was also held on this ocassion by Authors Guild of India, Webportal Rastraokti and Parvatiya Lok Vikas Samittee. Several leading personalities of various fields including Professor Kuthiyala, professor of media studies, Rahul Dev, veteran journalist, IIMC chief Govind Singh, veteran journalist adressed the august gathering exhorting them to work hard in their respective fields to ensure that unity in diversity is maintained for the good of the society in the country. About Godi media syndrome Govind Singh said that while he would not go into the details he would like to see that the media performs intellectually and with impartiality, performing well with real professionalism. Several leading professors, leading thinkers, socio – political activists, bureaucrats n social thinkers were also felicitated on this ocassion. The event was ably organised and anchored by Surya Prakash Semwal, media advisor to union minister for Commerce and Trade and lecturer in PGDAV College ( Evening) and patron of Parvatiya Lok Vikas Samitte with its President Virendra Semwal, chairing the programme. In the nutshell the event was solely lively with the proprietor od Punjab Kesari Kiran felicitated as the chief guest along with veteran journalist Rahul Dev.
