The chief minister of Delhi Atishi Marlena today met the LG of Delhi Vinay Saxena and submitted her resignation letter.
Atishi Marlena was made the Delhi chief minister few months before the elections after the former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail by the apex court directing him not to sign any official document and also restricting him to go to Delhi secretariat office but can campaign for his party during the Delhi polls.
This led to Kejrival submit his resignation appointing Kalkaji MLA Atishi Marlena as the chief minister in his place. Atishi sat on a separate chair and the original chief minister’s vacant chair was kept on her side by Atishi as a gesture of respect for her leadership Kejrival then.
This was a sort of mutual arrangement between her and Kejrival that she will resign from her post after the AAP gets majority in Delhi polls.
But unfortunately Kejrival and AAP lost in Delhi polls securing merely 22 seats against the comfortable majority of BJP bagging 48 seats and returning back on the power saddle after 27 protracted years.
While handing over the the resignation letter Atishi also posed for a photograph with the Delhi LG, both smiling stereotypically.
However, both of them are bete noire of each other. Former Delhi CM Atishi has regained her seat from Kalkaji defeating the outspoken former BJP MP Ramesh Biduri and vociferous Congress leader Alka Lamba.
As soon as the Election Commission announced the final seat tally of all the political parties in the fray, with BJP getting a massive majority of 48 seats, the jubilant saffron was in full celebratory mood and mode as if has recaptured power after twenty seven protracted years since 1998.
The prime minister Narendra Modi and the union Home minister Amit Shah including the national party chief Amit Shah addressed a large meeting at the party headquarter at Rouse Avenue thanking the party workers and Delhi citizens with Narendra Modi assuring the electorates to give them back multiply in terms of benefits etc.
On the other hand the AAP supremo has said that the AAP will play a role of a strong opposition in the assembly now.
As soon as the Bhartiya Janata Party won with the final tally of 48 seats, the entire Delhi secretariat was sealed and an urgent letter issued by the General Administration Joint Secretary instructing not to take any files, computer hardware and documents out of the Delhi secretariat building with all the senior officers too summoned for an urgent meeting.
Meanwhile, search for the perspective chief ministerial candidate has commenced by the party high command of the BJP with the names of Dushyant Gautam, though he lost from Karol Bagh, ( a dalit leader) , Parvesh Verma, former MP and winner from New Delhi defeating Arvind Kejriwal, Mohan Singh Bisht, five term law maker having won from a muslim dominated constituency Mustafabad and MP Singer Manoj Tiwari and a woman law maker doing the rounds.
Meanwhile, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi who is also out on bail under PMLA charges and credited for substantially improving the quality and standard of Delhi government schools and education Manish Sisodiya has thanked the people of Delhi writing on X : I heartily thank the people of Delhi, who gave me the opportunity to serve them for 12 years and shape the future of their children. If the education system needs to be improved, then politics is the only way to do it. That is why I have dedicated my life to education and will continue to work for it in the future too. Jai Hind said Manish through X and a video speech.
