Assam police comes to Delhi and knocks the door of Pawan Khera to interrogate him on an FIR filed against him by CM’s wife
The vociferous leader of the Congress party Pawan Khera was on the run as the Assam chief minister Hemanra Biswas got an FIR registered against him and sent the police to his Delhi residence to arrest the Congress leader.
There was quite an uproar in the political circles especially in the Congress corridors with the veteran Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge criticizing the the Assam CM and BJP for their vindictive stance saying that it is our duty to question anyone and even if they register an FIR against our leaders, we hardly care. We will face them unwittingly.
On the other hand, the Assam chief minister Hemanta Biswas has ridiculed Congress leader saying that Pawan Khera has absconded out of fear. I came to know this morning that he has run away from Assam and Delhi house too where Assam police had gone to search him.
It may be recalled that during campaigning in Assam in favour of Congress candidates. In a press conference in Delhi Pawan Khera has accused the wife of the Assam chief minister Hemanta Biswas of keeping three passports, which according to him is illegal and said they may run away. Denying the charges Rinki Bhuiyan took this charge seriously and lodged an FIR against the Congress leader and the Assam police rushed Delhi to interrogate and arrest him. She said it seems they (Congrsss leaders) have been bitten by a mad dog.
Addressing a press conference in Assam the Congress chief said that to run a state efficiently and with transparency we need a honest chief minister but in Assam this is not the case levelling charges of corruption against the present CM. He said that our fight is against the alleged corrupt CM and administration and we want to bring an honest government that will empower women and take the state in the path of progress. He said that we will fight this government tooth and nail , and question it. Let it register FIRs against US, we will fight them.
