Appeal to Uttarakhand government for immediate action regarding continuous bear attacks in Beragadi village by wild bears
Pradhan and two injured in Tehri Garhwal

Recently, a bear attacked another village in Beragadi, Patti Juwa, seriously injuring Mr. Vinod Rawat in Tehri Garhwal.
The village head, Mr. Yudhveer Rawat, and several other villagers were also injured in the attack.
Previously, a woman was battling for her life after being attacked by a wild bear.
These frequent incidents have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity throughout the area not only in Tehri Garhwal but in entire Uttarakhand.
The angered and highly infuriated villagers said that the DFO despite several complaints never heeded to their repeated requests and complaints and said that there in no wild bear in this area ignoring the requests of the villagers who wanted the wild bear to be tranquilised and caged.
Had the DFO heard to their repeated complaints and acted forthwith these ongoing wild bear attacks could have been averted.
According to the local inhabitant Prithvi Singh Adhikari there are several social organizations active in our area, such as Gangotri, Tehri Uttarkashi Jan Vikas Parivar, and Garhwal Hitaishni Sabha, of which we are all members.
If we are truly serious about our social responsibility, it is our duty to immediately raise this serious issue at the highest level.
Hd urged to those living in Delhi
to take this issue before the Government of India and the Government of Uttarakhand on priority basis and immediate action should be taken to catch this bear and send it to a safe place, so that such incidents can be prevented in future.
