Another pregnant woman from the Bhilangana development block of Tehri district died on the way after being referred today.
Neetu Panwar, 24, wife of Deepak Panwar, of Shrikot village near Chamiyala, was referred to a higher center this morning from Beleshwar Hospital.
Despite the approved position, there is no gynecologist appointed at this hospital.
After a two-and-a-half-hour journey by ambulance, she reached Phakot when she died on the way. She was eight months pregnant.
This is the third case in just a few days in the Bhilangana development block, TEHRI GARHWAL where a pregnant woman died on the way to a higher center after being referred.
Couldn’t a helicopter ambulance been arranged in this case as well?

The president of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum Sunil Negi and senior Vice President of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal Ashutosh Negi has strongly condemned the tragic demise of a twenty eight year old pregnant women due to the non availability of gynaecologist and other shortage of medical treatment accusing the local MLA and the BJP government of Uttarakhand. They said : A third consecutive pregnant woman has died in the Ghansali Assembly due to lack of medical treatment! Shame on the Uttarakhand government and the Ghansali MLA, another pregnant woman has died today said Sunil Negi and the senior VP of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal Ashutosh Negi.
