Anil Baluni’s chances seem bright. Uttarakhand CM Rawat at centre’s mercy having rushed to Delhi

The recent developments in Uttarakhand’s political scenerio and in BJP circles especially after the visit of the national vice president of BJP, former chief minister of Chattisgarh Raman Singh and Rajya Sabha MP n in-charge, Uttarakhand BJP Dushyant Gautam including calling of an emergency core committee meeting at Dehradun etc have finally compelled the incumbent chief minister Trivendra Rawat rush to Delhi by his special aircraft to meet the union home minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda and senior saffron party leader B.L. Santosh.

The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat reached Delhi after hurriedly cancelling his political engagements in Chamoli.

According to the latest party sources and the subsequent developments, the names of Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, union minister of education n former Uttarakhand CM, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, state tourism minister Satpal Maharaj, Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt are actively doing the rounds in the media and BJP’s political corridors for the next CM of Uttarakhand.

The change has been necessitated in view of the 2022 assembly elections of Uttarakhand and the reputation of the present CM adversely coming down likely to reverse the chances of BJP coming to power in the hilly state.

There have been tremendous silent rebellion within the BJP MLAs desperately wanting a change in the state’s government leadership particularly after the present CM has been rated as the worst CM ever by some recent surveys.

The saffron party therefore seems to be in no mood to take any further risk. Moreover if we go by the past instances the BJP had changed its CMs earlier as well before assembly elections removing Nityanand Swamy, Uttarakhand’s first chief minister of the state as well as retired Major general Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri replacing them with Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank earlier.

There are reports that the central observers Raman Singh and Dushyant Gautam who had visited Dehradun on Saturday have already submitted their report to the national BJP president JP Nadda as well as to home minister Amit Shah, after confabulating with the Uttarakhand BJP lawmakers at length.

The BJP parliamentary party is meeting on 8 th and 9 th March in New Delhi to decide on the question of replacing or retaining the present CM TS Rawat depending on the assesment by the central leadership.

Sources reveal that the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is on a strong defensive mode finding himself in jeopardy especially strong, heavyweight n capable contenders for the CM post coming into limelight.

If we believe in the clues of the latest sources the union education minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank is least interested to go to Uttarakhand for a year as CM till 2022, already being the powerful education minister at the centre and chances of Anil Baluni, member Rajya Sabha, extremely close to PM Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah seems to be much brighter as compared to Ajay Bhatt, MP n Satpal Maharaj reveal latest sources.
