In the past too he has endeavored to built a cancer hospital in Garhwal with the help of the TATA’S including importing good number of oxygen concentrators for the patients suffering from ailments during critical Covid Times. He had also allocated good amount of money for setting up of ICU’s in several district hospitals and those in the interior villages. These good services are indicative of his pre planning to try his luck from Pauri Garhwal constituency this time. Rajya Sabha MP is top close to prime minister Narendra Modi and union Home minister Amit Shah. He was the OSD with governor S. D. Bhandari before joining the active politics of BJP . The current sitting MP from Pauri Garhwal constituency is however a first timer as MP. Earlier he was the CM of Uttarakhand but couldn’t continue well and was changed by the present CM Pushkar Singh Dhami who was primarily the protege of the former Uttarakhand CM and former governor Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. Uttarakhand has 59% Rajput voters with Pauri constituency also having a sizeable number of them, playing a pivotal role in deciding the victory chances of the parliamentary candidates but late MP Jagannath Sharma, political stalwart late H. N. Bahuguna, Retired Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri won from this seat being outstanding politicians.
