An important step forward towards a developed and progressive J n K says PM Modi
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has called today’s meeting with political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir an important step in the ongoing efforts towards a developed and progressive J&K, where all-round growth is furthered.
In a series of tweets after the meeting, the Prime Minister said.
“Today’s meeting with political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir is an important step in the ongoing efforts towards a developed and progressive J&K, where all-round growth is furthered.
Our priority is to strengthen grassroots democracy in J&K. Delimitation has to happen at a quick pace so that polls can happen and J&K gets an elected Government that gives strength to J&K’s development trajectory.
Our democracy’s biggest strength is the ability to sit across a table and exchange views. I told the leaders of J&K that it is the people, specially the youth who have to provide political leadership to J&K, and ensure their aspirations are duly fulfilled.”
The union home minister Amit Shah while rieterating his government’s commitment to ensure an all round development of the state said that the meeting of all the leaders on Jammu and Kashmir issue was held in an atmosphere of cordiality and every leaser present expressed their full faith in the commitment for democracy and constitution with the government and the participants stressing on strengthening democracy in the state. In a tweet the union home minister added : We are committed to ensure all round develioment of the state of Jammu n Kashmir. The meeting deliberated on the future of Jammu n Kashmir and the delimitatuon exercise. The home minister rieterated that the peaceful elections are the important milestone in restoring statehood as promised in tge parliament stessed Amit Shah in his tweet. The meeting lasted for three long hours attended by Prime minister Narendra Modi, hime minister Amit Shah, Lt governor Manoj Sinha, National Conference chief veteran former J n K. CM Farooq Abdullah, his son n former CM, former CM n PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti Sayeed, former union minister n senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress J n K chief Ghulam Mir, CPM general secretary of J n K Targiani, J n K Panrgers Party founder n chief patron, senior Advocate Suprem Court Professor Bhim Singh, J n K Apni Party’s Altaf Bukhari, Tara Chand n some BJP’s state level leaders. In all there were 14 parties that participated in this important meeting all belonging to Gupkar alliance. The national security advisor eas also present in this meeting.
