Though there are hundreds of incidents of honesty n transparency in the country but during these days such incidents are rarely seen. However, there are still people of integrity whose inner conscience never allow them to take along the money found belonging to those who’d lost it. One such incident of honesty was observed in Garhwal Uttarakhand though the amount found by a woman was not much, merely Rs. 14000, but for a poor woman who lost it, the amount mattered too much.
This incident pertains to the SBI bank of Paurikhal, Khaas Patti, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, enough to send across a message of honesty of a woman who returned the money found by her to a desperate woman who lost it coming to the bank worried complaining about it. It so happened that a women belonging to Chadhiyara Roaddhar withdrew some amount from her acount in SBI Bank situated at Paurikhal, Tehri Garhwal.
While coming back after withdrawal she found Rs.14000 nearby. The village woman picked the money, thinking that it’s her money having fallen down but after checking her bag on the way she found the withdrawn money intact. She immediately came back to the bank and reported that she has found Rs. 14000 which are not her as she hasn’t withdrawn this amount. The bank employees enquired but nobody claimed it. While she was waiting in the bank to return the said amount, a desperately distressed another woman came there complaining that she has lost Rs 14000 thousand somewhere here.
The anguished woman said that she has searched everywhere but could not find the lost money. Meanwhile the woman who found the money, returned the same to the worried woman who had withdrawn this amount from this bank but lost it. The badly perturbed woman heaved a great sigh of relief after getting her lost money Rs 14000.
The crux of the story is that had the woman not disclosed about the money she found, nobody would have known, and the poor woman who had lost her hard earned money would have badly suffered, but the impeccably honesty of another woman has set an outstanding example of integrity.
