Can you imagine that a young boy with modest background, primarily a villager of Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand who before 1998 comes to Delhi on his own , washes floor, works in a diary, supplies milk, washes utensils, gets up early morning and cleans the diary precincts including cows and buffaloes, works as guard but after more than two decades, by the dint of his hard work, perseverance, dedication, commitment and will power becomes the owner of the chain of restaurants/ hotels in China, lately a thirty six room luxurious hotel in Gurugram and several other outstanding achievements to his credit.
Currently also a motivator in China and martial arts trained fighter apart from being a reputed entrepreneur at an age below fifty Dev Raturi of Tehri Garhwal was recently felicitated with an outstanding award by the National Security advisor Ajit Doval in a function in Delhi.
Known as the most acclaimed Indian in China who never forgot his Roots it was indeed an immense pleasure to meet a friend and acclaimed entrepreneur, Dev Raturi on his invitation to visit his new Hotel in Gurgaon Amber Palace.
Highly inspiring to the present generation in particular Raturi runs a successful chain of Restuarants in China, six exclusively in Xian and has acted in numerous Films to be exact forty Chinese and one Hollywood. Through his sheer perseverance in life, which started from humble background in his Tehri Garhwal Village in Uttarakhand to being a Successful Businessman, his journey has been amazing as narrated to this writer. His childhood and adulthood were of full of challenges and with limited educational opportunities his struggles mountainous like a true braveheart working as a milkman in a dairy, then as a driver and waiter.
Raturi recalls : Opportunity for him struck when he went to China to work in a Restaurant in the year 1998. Gradually from the base he rose to be a GM in one of the companies drawing 3 lakh 50 thousand dollars. He adapted Chinese well and trained in Martial Arts, with Pride for Mother India and his Culture deep in his Heart says Dev Raturi.
Raturi opened an innovative Indian Themed Food Pavilion which showcased Indian Flavours and Culture blatantly.l not only just earning goodwill and accolades but also earning the people’s love for his cuisines delicious tastes. Soon his idea and business flourished in the form of Chain of Restaurants in several provinces of China and he started getting recognition as a successful Actor & Trained Martial Arts and Yoga Expert.
Having got the first opportunity by a director when he visited his restaurant in scion Dev never looked back acting in nearly forty Chinese movies since then. He is currently also working on abig banner South Indian Hindi movie , though a guarded secret till it’s not complete practically.
Dev is such a popular person in China as a multi facetated entrepreneur that a chapter on his life and outstanding achievements, was incorporated in Chinese School Text Books.
Dev Raturi never forgot his Indian & Uttarakhand roots and helped many fellow Uttarakhandis with Jobs in China.
Today he spends quality time engaging himself with Social Ventures in Uttarakhand and India, thus giving back to the society where his hard work and strong will finally stood out from the masses.
He has launched his New Hotel “Amber Palace”, with a beautiful theme- Humanity in Harmony in Gurgaon which has been aesthetically designed and the cuisine is of global standards. Mr. Negi, presented him with his book “Havoc in Heaven” on the Kedarnath and other Natural Disasters which has engrossed Uttarakhand in the Past. Together we discussed mutual forays into Social Impact and Synergies to further enhance our Hill Culture aggressively. A firm believer in God , Dev Raturi while in China for more than three decades kept fast on Tuesdays for twenty long years and the money saved in every Tuesday spent on feeding the poor and needy.
