Amir Khan and Harish Rawat laud The Kashmir Files, saying every Indian should watch it and settle the displaced Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir, dealing with terrorism with a heavy hand
The Kashmir Files movie highlighting the traumatic plight about the forced n torturous exodus of over five lakh Kashmiri Pandits from strife torn terrorist infested Kashmir to various parts of the country in 1990 which has become controversial being screened all over India, going house full, has till now collected nearly 142 crores in just two weeks likely to cross 150 crores collection in few days from now.
There are appreciations and criticisms of the movie but it is being majorly lauded not only by affected Kashmiri Pandits but also people by other communities as well.
Though political parties are busy in the blame game in view of their diverse ideological considerations, prominent film actors and celebrities have different views. While anti BJP politicians though lauding the movie are putting the blame on the then VP Singh Government supported by 85 BJP MPs with BJP nominee Jagmohan, the governor of Kashmir , the BJP have been squarely accusing the Congress party for this tragic mis happenning.
Meanwhile, the prominent Bollywood director, producer and actor having come for the promotion of his movie RRR Amir Khan has outrightly lauded “The Kashmir Files”, movie for showing the naked truth about the atrocities inflicted on Kashmiri Pundits in 1990, catagorically saying that those who had confronted this trauma and watched their near n dear ones dying compelled to leave Kashmir, only know about this tragedy and as such not only them but the entire countrymen should watch this movie.
He termed this movie as a true depiction of the tragic atrocities on the Hindus living in Kashmir in 1990 confronted with diabolical deaths n trauma, never ever happened.
Being very honest in his opinion he urged the countrymen to watch Kashmir Files at all costs.
On the other hand the former chief minister of Uttarakhand n CWC member of Congress party’s highest decision making body Harish Rawat has also lauded this movie comparing it with the tragic atrocities inflicted on peaceful inhabitants of Uttarakhand by the then UP administration and police on youths, women and children, (movement activists) in Muzaffarnagar in 1992 going to participate in a Delhi rally.
In his detailed face book post Harish Rawat wrote : #The Kashmir_ Files, In 1990 the Kashmiri pundits suffered traumatically the horrendous atrocities on them. The way they were targetted selectively n killed, atrocities committed on women, their children constrained to leave their homes n villages, those dreaded scars are still fresh in their minds n hearts. There is no scope for political analysis on this dreaded tragedy as “The Kashmir Files”, is a living exhibition of those hard true facts. I was the MP then and had raised this issue incessantly in Parliament. Lot had been said on the historic blunders and wrong policies of the then governor Jagmohan and the then home minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed wrote Rawat in his social media post.
He added : Hardened terrorists were released when VP Singh’s government was. ruling at the centre with the support of Bhartiya Janata Party.
He said : I fondly remember that the Congress party had then asked the supporting partners ( BJP n others) to withdraw support from the then VP Singh government who was not able to protect the Kashmiri Pundits from the atrocities of the terrorists in Kashmir.
The BJP did withdrew its support later on but it was too late by then when the movement of reservation on Mandal Commission was on its peak wrote Harish Rawat further adding that the history can’t ever belie this historic blunder. There had been ignorance in tackling the terrorism effectively in Kashmir then wrote Rawat.
Similarly, the then government of Uttar Pradesh in 1992 inflicted umpteen atrocities in Mujaffarnagar on women, youths and children etc. However, after getting separate Uttarakhand, state we have tolerated and concealed this most traumatic tragedy in our hearts. Now is the time to most effectively counter terrorism nationally looking forward with hope and optimism for a new cohesive and self reliant Kashmir wrote Harish Rawat in his post instead of accusations and counter accusations on each other added Rawat.
He reiterated that there is an urgent need to settle the displaced Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir than to just give them just lip sympathies said veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat in his social media post which is, self explanatory, as below.
