As the date of polling is coming nearer the election campaigning is not only becoming hectic but in some places becoming violent also. There are news reports that in the high profile constituency considered to be the stronghold of Nehru Gandhi family from where former union minister Smriti Irani is the sitting MP and BJP’ s candidate as well, with former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi shifting to Rae Bareilly and Wayanad and their family’s most trusted Leutienant Kishori Lal Sharma made the official Congress candidate from here, the office of Congress in Amethi was attacked yesterday. According to the latest reports the office of Congress party was attacked and ransacked last midnight by some goons. The y also damaged several vehicles stationed outside the office and created quite a noise to terrorise people in the area and finally tan away. The Congress party activists were badly furious and angered after this development and started protesting raising anti BJP slogans and demanding the arrest of the culprits at the earliest. The district Congress chief Mr.Singhal reached the office and condemned the incident in strongest possible terms. The Circle Officer if the city reached the spot alongwith other policemen and tried to pacify the protesting Congress workers. The CO City Mayak Dwivedi talked to the leader of the protestors and assured that an impartial enquiry will be ordered in this incident to bring the culprits to book at the earliest. Good number of policemen have been deployed there. It may be recalled that the Gandhi family has given Congress ticket to Kishori Lal Sharma this time who is a Gandhi family loyalist and had been looking after Amethi and Rai Bareilly works since decades earning the trust if the Gandhi family. Rahul Gandhi who was the sitting MP from here till 2019 had shifted to Wayanad, Kerala after he list to Smriti Irani by 50000 votes in 2019. This time he is contesting from two parliamentary seats at a time, one in Wayanad and other is Rae Bareilly. It is believed that both Are Bareilly and Amethi are Congress turfs though Rahul had list last time in 2019 but he had also won from Wayanad, Kerala. He has come to Amethi via Delhi with Rajiv Gandhi in Amethi. Captain Satish Sharma used to look after Amethi constituency affairs from 34 Rakab Ganj residence in New Delhi and Kishori Lal too was active. He lateron served Sonia Gandhi, Rahul and Priyanka and looked after Bareilly and Amethi affairs since then. Meanwhile, the Congress party on its social media handle targetted the BJP and its Amethi candidate writing : Smriti Irani and BJP workers are badly scared in Amethi, UP. Frustrated by the defeat they saw, BJP goons armed with sticks and rods reached outside the Congress office in Amethi and vandalised vehicles parked there. There has been a deadly attack on Congress workers and people of Amethi. Many people are badly injured in this attack. During the incident, vehicles of local people were also damaged. The police administration remained a mute spectator during the entire incident. This incident is a witness that BJP is going to lose badly in Amethi.
