Ambika Soni hoists the national flag at party headquarter, Rahul Gandhi saluted the national flag. Sonia n Priyan infected with Covid, couldn’t join.
The veteran Congress leader and senior most general secretary of the party, member CWC Ambika Soni on 15 th August unfurled the national flag amid singing of the national anthem with good number of party workers and members n office bearers, MPs n party leaders present saluting the national flag. The former Congress president and MP from Waynad Rahul Gandhi was also present on this ocassion saluting the national flag and taking part in the flag hoisting ceremony on the 75 th Independence Day anniversary. Mrs Sonia Gandhi, party’s interim president and her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra could not attend the ceremony as they are in home isolation after being infected from Covid since last Friday. Several senior Congress leaders like Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jairam Naresh, K. C. Venugopal, Pawan Bansal, Mohsina Kidwai etc were present on this ocassion.
Both the mother n daughter duo, Sonia and Priyanka are strictly following the Covid 19 protocols.
However, Rahul who was on high fewer yesterday seems to have cured himself and was present at today Flag hoisting ceremony. Rahul Gandhi was flanked by senior leader n former MP Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma. The octogenarian leader of opposition Mallikarjun Khadge also couldn’t join today’s flag hoisting ceremony as he too is infected with Covid 19.
