Amar Jawan Jyoti ( flame) to merge with flame at National War Memorial today at 3.30 PM

The historic Amar Jawan Jyoti launched by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi in reverence to the patriotic brave hearts who laid down their precious lives in the Indo Pak war of 1971 creating Bangladesh, in the middle of historic India Gate build by the Britishers in honour of thousands of soldiers who sacrificed themselves in First world War with their names inscribed over it, will not exist anymore and shall be merged ( amalgamate) with the flame at National War Memorial four hundred kilometres away from India Gate on Friday at 3.30 PM. It used to be here that the president, prime minister and all the three chiefs of defence Forces paid their tributes in ful public glare telecast all over India n the globe on 26 th January, Republic Day and National Army Day etc. The Congress leader and former chief Rahul Gandhi has in his tweet wrote : It is a matter of immense anguish that the Amar Jawan Jyoti that used to be glow ( burn) for our brave hearts, will be vanished today. Some people don’t understand the Desh Prem, love for the nation, no problem. We will light the Amar Jawan Jyoti for our soldiers once again tweeted Rahul Gandhi.

Kindly recall that the inauguration of Amar Jawan Jyoti was done on 26 th January 1972, Republic Day by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi in memory of the soldiers n officers who sacrificed themselves in the Indo Pak War of 1971. The Amar Jawan Jyoti which will be amalgamated with the flame at National War Memorial 400 metres away from India Gate was inaugurated by prime minister Narendra Modi on 25 February, 2019 where the names of 25, 942 brave hearts ( soldiers) have been inscribed in golden letters. The National War Memorial was constructed on 40 acres of land with the expenditure of Rs 176 crores.

Meanwhile activists of Indian Youth Congress are protesting today against extinguishing the Amar Jyoti, a symbol of courage and sacrifice of the martyrs. The IYC chief Sriniwas BC says that the country will not tolerate BJP’s conspiracy to erase the history of valor.
