Alka Lamba demands – PM should use his good offices to write to his counterpart in Germany to bring back Prajwal Revanna
The newly appointed vociferous women leader appointed as the national Mahila Congress chief Alka Lamba today addressed a hard hitting press conference in New Delhi AICC headquarter and straight away attacked the top leaders of BJP including the PM Narendra Modi, former union minister Smriti Irani and the chief of National Commission of Women Rekha Sharma on Prajwal Revanna case saying that on the one hand a strong appeal has been made in a largely attended rally in Haasan to support the accused requesting to vote for him to strengthen the hands of the saffron party and JD(S) Alliance, on the other hand he is allowed to escape to Germany showing “Thenga ” to all the law enforcing agencies.
Accusing the National Commission of Women chief Rekha Sharma for not reacting or taking any action or cognisance of this most sensitive matter despite five days having been elapsed after a Mahila Congress delegation met her and also protested with play cards demanding death to culprit, Congress leader Alka Lamba said that though the father of the accused has been arrested after tremendous pressure, Prajwal Rewana whose name has allegedly appeared as a main culprit for sexually assaulting hundreds of women and its several videos going viral with SIT getting hold of pen drive of over 2800 porn videos , Alka Lamba said that there had been good number of protests in Karnataka, Delhi and in several other parts of various states demanding capital punishment to the culprit.
Alka Lamba showed the video of prime minister’s pictures with the former PM HD Devegowda, his son Revanna and grandson Prajwal and the former addressing a huge rally requesting to vote for the culprit.
Alka Lamba said that she had been to Karnataka personally after learning of this sexual imbroglio and had met all the high ups urging to take stringent action against the culprit , rather capital punishment.
She has personally urged about one thousand women who had been sexually exploited by the culprit Prajwal Revanna and his father for the last several months with videos going viral to personally and bravely come forward to give statement about their sexual and physical exploitation assuring them that the Karnataka CM and the entire machinery has pledged to help them acknowledge due justice and strictest of the punishment to the culprits.
Mahila Congress leader Alka Lamba also urged the ruling political dispensation and the prime minister to write to his counterpart in Germany and use his good offices to ensure that the culprit is reverted back to India and brought to justice.
It may be recalled that the main culprit Prajwal Revanna is the grandson of former prime minister HD Devegowda and hails from JD( S) which is in alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party .
Prajwal is contesting from Haasan Parliamentary constituency asthe JD ( S) BJP alliance candidate and prime minister Narendra Modi had addressed a massive rally in Karnataka in Haasan appealing to people to vote for him to strengthen the hands of the BJP – JD alliance.
The government has formed the SIT and look out circulars have been issued including the culprits father arrested for being complicit in this sexual scandal with his accused son fleeing to Germany in broad day light.
Addressing a press conference Mahila Congress chief Alka Lamba said that she alongwith the office bearer of Mahila Congress are going to Bengaluru again and will hold protest demonstration and sit in outside the Governors house to compel him/ her take immediate cognisance of this sensitive case and take it to the highest level to ensure that the culprit is brought back to India from Germany to be tried under the strictest sections of the law.
