Ajay Tamta inspects Swala danger zone where landslides are frequent

The union minister of state for Roads Transport and National Highways Ajay Tamta was today at Swala danger zone of Champawat Tanakpur National Highways inspecting it thoroughly with senior engineers and bureaucrats of the department concerned. In view of the incessant landslides at this danger zone the local populace and the tourists plying their vehicles on this road including those travelling in private and government transports are confronting tremendous hiccups and inconvenience. According to the state minister Ajay Tamta
during the inspection, detailed information was obtained from the National Highway (NH) officials regarding the condition of the site, nature of landslide, direction of water flow from the water source at the said place and availability of alternative routes to the said place.
He directed the concerned NH officials to find a permanent solution to this sensitive site and prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and submit it to the Ministry so that work on the action plan can begin as soon as possible. He also directed to ensure that adequate machinery and manpower are always ready to remove debris from the road, so that quick action can be taken in case of any emergency and there is minimum inconvenience to the public. BJP District President Shri Govind Samant and other party members were also present.
Mr. Ajay Tamta said that our effort is to ensure that this route is fully operational for smooth and safe traffic by the year 2026.
