Agnipath employment Scheme invites tremendous opposition, protests and violence in several states of the country!

Cumulative protests and violent incidents are mounting up in several states of the country with police and law enforcing agencies resorting to severe actions like closing or disconnecting the internet services and arresting protestors and hoodlums taking law and order in their hands and burning trains as well as destroying government properties, while registering their protests against the newly launched Agnipath employment Scheme by the central government for the new recruits of Armed Forces demanding maintaining the status, quo in the defence Forces recruitment. According to latest news while trains have been burnt n public properties damaged in Bihar, Sikandrabad and other states affecting about two hundred train routes compelling the Railways to suspend the rail network in Palwal district of Haryana after pelting of heavy stones on police personel and several injuries several hoodlums and protesting youths, have been arrested. The network services have also been suspended under the relevant Telegraph act for twenty four hours to ensure that no rumours are spread to vitiate the harmonious atmosphere and peace maintained in the area.

According to the police the suspension of the internet services were announced in view of the rumour mongering to vitiate the peaceful environment of Palwal district in Haryana under section (5) of the Indian Telegraph Act 1885 to be read along with Rule (2) of Temperory Suspension of Telecom services ( Public Emergency Or Public Safety) Rules 2017, an order issued by the chief secretary home ( Haryana) Rajiv. Even in Telengana, due to the ongoing disturbances and violent protests the South Central Railway was compelled to cancel the Multi Modal Transport System Services. A train was unfortunately also set on fire in Secundrabad railway station early morning on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has completely blocked the entry of Youth Congress office near Raisina Road with good number of police personel deployed there not allowing anyone even the youth Congress activists enter their office or come out apart from the pedestrians. The entire area has been blocked as if it’s a cantonment security resisted by the Youth Congress office bearers inviting the media to see for themselves the police raj in the area. In the invitation sent to media the IYC wrote : From the morning of June 17 , Delhi Police has converted the Indian Youth Congress office located at 5, Raisina Road, into a police cantonment and barricaded the main gate and closed it. Indian Youth Congress workers are not being allowed to go inside the office. Office workers are being threatened, they also are not allowed to go inside the office.

It is the alleged state of police hooliganism that the staff officers and workers who go to their offices peacefully are being allegedly forcibly picked and being threatened.

All journalist colleagues are requested to come to the Indian Youth Congress office as soon as possible to cover this act of police hooliganism and murder of democracy, mentioned the invitation letter if IYC.

The former Congress president and MP from Waynad Rahul Gandhi has in his tweet in hindi said in the context of the Agnipath Scheme : There is no rank, nor any pension, nor is there any direct employment ( recruitment) since the last 2 years, not even a, stable future after 4 years, nor government’s, respect or honour fir the armed forces ( defence services) , Listen to the voice of unemployed youths, Do test their patience by making them walk of AGBIPATH this taking their AGNIPARIKSHA, PM Sir, tweeted Rahul Gandhi.

Similarly, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi tweeted : Even 14 hours had not elapsed that the BJP government had to change the rules of Army recruitment. This means, the scheme was forcibly applied on the youths of the country, Narendra Modiji please take back this scheme immediately , recruit and give results on the pending recruitments of Airforce. Accord relief on the recruitments of Armed Forces as before tweeted Priyanka Gandhi.
