After the release of the video of burnt notes in large quantam DHC judge Verma in real soup

The most talked about case , being extensively streamed in all news channels and published in print media these days regarding the alleged seizure of large currency notes, now burnt from the bungalow of the Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Varma has become more sensitive after a video has been released in television channels about the burnt notes having been found in large numbers in the store room of the judge’s house on 14 March while he was out of town to Bhopal.
According to various news reports – the video and the statement of the Supreme Court categorically says that a committee of the three judge bench has been formed to probe this sensitive matter comprising of the chief justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Sheila Nagoo, the chief justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court justice G.S. Sandhawalia and the justice of Karnataka High Court Anu Shivraman.
The matter has become extremely high profile as the eyes of entire countrymen are focussed on this case especially due to media hype and credibility of the judiciary allegedly comming under question mark.
After this entire matter was reported by the secretary of the Delhi High Court Judge ‘s secretary to the police and it informed the DFS to douse the fire , the details of the case procured by the Delhi police commissioner were brought to the notice of the Delhi High Court chief justice especially because the news was related to seizures of burnt currency in large quantity etc.
After this news was revealed through newspapers two days ago, though after the mysterious silence for 6-7 days about large quantam of currency found at the Delhi High Court justice’s house when he was out of town , there was quite a flutter in judiciary and the Delhi Fire Office chief issuing a denial statement about funding any currency notes , again to contradict it saying no such statement was issued. This resulted in several senior journalists posting their messages of suspicion and something being cooked fishy in this case especially Rajdeep Sardesai, Rohini Singh and several others in social media circles. Now since the video of the large number of currency notes of the denomination of five hundred being burnt in the fire have been released it has been confirmed about the huge quantam of currency found at the storeroom of the DHC judge’s bungalow. For now the Supreme Court chief justice has catagorically issued directives not to accord any official responsibility to handle any case or responsibility to the erring judge who has been transferred to Allahabad. According to latest news the chief justice of Delhi High Court said : I contacted Justice Verma, who met me on 17.3.2025 at around 8.30 am at the Delhi High Court Guest House where I am currently staying. Justice Verma replied that the room in which the fire broke out contained only some furniture and unused household items like mattresses etc. He also told me that the room was frequented by servants, gardeners and sometimes CPWD employees. He also told me that he was in Bhopal at the time of the incident and he got this information from his daughter. Justice Verma further told me that at present there is a black burnt substance (soot) lying in the room. After this, I showed him the photos and videos on my WhatsApp, which the Police Commissioner had already sent to me. After this, he suspected a conspiracy against him. The investigation conducted by me does not prima facie reveal as to whether any person other than the people residing in the bungalow, servants, gardeners and CPWD personnel (if any) had entered the room revealed the AT report. Accordingly, it is my prima facie opinion that the entire matter needs to be thoroughly investigated.’ said the Delhi High Court chief justice.
Meanwhile leading advocate and renowned activist for human rights Prashant Bhushan lauded the Supreme court initiative to for a three members committee to probe the DHC Judge’s case writing on X :
