AFTER THE REJECTION OF NOMINATION PAPERS OF ONE of the PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES OF GHS , SURAT SINGH MAY BE DECLARED WINNER WITHOUT CONTEST

The nomination of the outgoing president Ajay Singh Bisht who had filed nomination for re- contest as PRESIDENT for the second term in Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha Elections has been cancelled by the election officers on technical grounds annoying him who had earlier filed an application of objection against US Negi, Assistant Election Officer as his son Sudesh Negi is contesting for the post of Sports Secretary from the rival panel led by Surat Singh Rawat contesting for the post of President. Ajay Bisht ‘s entire panel is in the fray the elections of which are due for 12 th January. The exact reason for the rejection of the cancellation papers have however not been disclosed till yet.

There are two panels in the fray of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha Elections scheduled to be held on 12 th January one led by the outgoing president Ajay Singh Bisht and another by his rival Surat Singh, who took had been the chief of GHS earlier.

After the cancellation of the nomination papers of Ajay Singh Bisht for the post of president , his rival candidate Surat Singh Rawat will be elected unilaterally without contest as there were only two contestants in the fray for the post of president.

According to the latest report out of total thirty candidates for various posts about fifteen candidates’ nomination papers have been rejected on technical grounds.

For the post of President while Ajay Singh Bisht’s name has been rejected the name of Devesh Nautiyal for the post of secretary has also been rejected . He was contesting from Surat Singh Rawat Panel.

Since on the secretary’s post too there were only two candidates, the name of Deepak Dwivedi has automatically been cleared.

Similarly the name of Gulab Singh Jayada, formerly treasurer and currently also having filed his nomination for the same post has been rejected. This means that the treasurer from Surat Singh Rawat panel Dhirendra Singh Rawat will now be elected without unopposed contest.

Similarly for the post of Organising secretary the nomination of Nagendra Kanswal from Surat Singh camp has been rejected giving unambiguous chances to Ajay Singh Bisht’s panel ( though Bisht is now out) Murari Lal Khanduri coming victorious without contest.

What is important and interesting to note here is that the nomination papers of both the candidates for the post of Literary secretary Azad Singh Negi and Jagat Singh Panwar have been rejected clearly meaning that this time the newly elected body of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha will be without elected Sahityik Sachiv and shall be nominated later on by the new victorious body.

Among the sports secretaries the nomination papers of Bhagwan Singh Negi , who was earlier too the” khel sachiv” have been cancelled on technical grounds thus giving upper hand to the son of the Assistant Election officer Uday Negi, namely Sudhish Negi being declared as victorious, unilaterally.

Nomination papers of about 12 candidates for the post of executive of GHS have been rejected out of 32 contestants.

Meanwhile, the outgoing president Ajay Bisht whose nomination papers have been rejected for the prime post of presidentship has been sending the copies of his complaint in Hindi addressed to the chief election officer in social media earlier complaining that the son of the Assistant Election officer of GHS U.S. Negi, Sudhish Negi is contesting for the post of Sports Secretary. Being the father of the candidate will he not influence the election asked the outgoing president . He had also demanded to oust him from the post of Assistant Election Officer on moral grounds. However, the fact remains that the same team was conducting the Garhwal Hiteshini Sbha elections four years ago and then too Sudhish Negi had contested for the executive committee membership’s election from the complainant Ajay Bisht ‘s panel. Then he had not raised any objection. Why ? Ask his rivals now.
