After Rajinder Nagar defeat and earlier 5 MCD by-elections in March Delhi BJP leaders in setback mode ! Demand for deeper introspection
After the defeat of BJP in Rajender Nagar by-election with earlier five defeats in the by – elections of MCD last year in the month of March, despite the fact that the saffron party is ruling in all the three corporations, the Delhi unit of the party that rules the centre n majority of the states may seriously go in an introspective mode to asses and ascertain the reasons behind its incessant defeats not able to counter the Aam Aadmi Party’ s increasing influence, which has captured power in Punjab too.
Though according to political analysts the polarisation factor that had worked favourably in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand etc in the recently held elections defeating Congress, SP n other parties, it cannot win in West Bengal and Punjab despite its full say in majority of states. On the other hand after its resounding victory in Punjab n now in a prestigious by-election in Rajinder Nagar seat, the AAP is extending its tantacles in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. Delhi being the national capital always has its impact on national elections but the way AAM ADMI PARTY ruling in Delhi is making its grip stronger n stronger day by day with BJP not able to defeat it, it is believed that the presidentship of the present Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta is at stake.
Though in state assembly and elections of municipal corporations local issues of roads, water, electricity, sewer, schools n hospital and health system matter by all means but being the national capital, the national issues like skyrocketing inflation and its subsequent adverse impacts also play a key role in changing the mood of the electorates. Apart from this, the alleged attack on the house of Delhi CM by BJYM activists and the ongoing confrontation between the central nominee LG and the CM on various issues and policy matters etc also negatively impact the voters especially when the national union territory government complains about the centre withdrawing their budget etc. It may be recalled that the AAP government, its CM n the centre had always been on collision course blaming each other, with the Delhi electorates watching the verbal fight on television channels and newspapers accusing each other on charges beyond the understanding of the common public. After the BJPs defeat in the Rajender Nagar by-election there have been lots of negative reactions by its own leaders. The former standing Committee chairman and councillor Jagdish Mamgain to whose credit are few books authored by him expresses his annoyance saying : The “Chutbhayye, low level leaders of BJP are not ashamed or hurt by their defeat in Delhi by-election, but are happy on the defeat of AAP by dangerous anti India Khalisthani supporters in Sangrur Punjab, where as the fact is that BJP is on fourth position there. The state leaders are posting in social media that they are happy about the blindness of others not thinking that their own eyes have been injured. It would had been better had they thought about the Delhi n the country BJP, tweeted Jagdish Mamgain. Another twitter user n former media panellist and BJP leader Rahul Trivedi tweeted : Delhi BJP needs a lot of introspection. What’s the reason that we are wining in every region of the nation but in the case of Delhi we always confront defeat. The responsibility for these defeats should be fixed as we are losing the connect with the grass root people tweeted Rahul Trivedi, BJP media, panelist.
