Senior journalist with NDTV for several years Ravish Kumar has resigned from this news channel saddening his millions of readers and fans especially professionals from media, fraternity and budding journalists too. Ravish Kumar had symbolised himself as a hard hitting journalist maintaining complete transparency and dynamism in his reporting and presentation of programmes. His casual and impressive style of interaction and delivery – different from vociferous news readers n TV anchors of other news channels sounding more like spokesmen of political parties with well researched knowledge has impressed one and all. In true sense Ravish Kumar has become a cumulative voice of the depressed, oppressed people of the country. His brave voice of dissent against the powers that be for crushing the voice of free speech, vocal and anti establishments journalists being lynched and intellectuals of the country especially progressive ones being compelled to stay indoors has not demoralised Ravish Kumar ever who bravely maintained his journalistic courage and confronted anyone who is, wrong creating impediments in the road of free, fair, fearless and independent journalism. His journalism of transparency, bravery, dissent and opposition to anything which is unfair, , immoral, anti people and anti poor has, paid dividends in the free society demoralising and exposing the journalists with comforts and pro establishment. Ravish got prestigious Ramon Magsaysay award when he was being demoralised in his own homeland while performing his journalistic duties in NDTV, which finally has been bought leading to his ouster as quitting it, definitely under compelling circumstances for not compromising on principles and journalistic ethics. It may be recalled that the new NDTV Board had,approved the resignations of Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy in their capacity as directors of RRPR holding private limited, the promoter of NDTV. Ravish Kumar quitted a day after with millions of his fans, followers and fellow journalists eager to see him in a new format. Ravish never wanted to be insulted by being in the category of journalists surrendering themselves to establishment selling their journalistic ethics and morality.
