After not getting a single seat in Uttarakhand AAP’s CM candidate Colonel ( R) Kothiyal quits party!

Retired Colonel Ajay Kothiyal the chief ministerial candidate of Aam Admi Party declared by its national convenor and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in a press conference during the last election at Dehradun with fanfare, has formally resigned from the primary membership of the party, after losing from the Gangotri Assembly seat and his party not able to bring a single seat despite tall claims and announcement of lots of freebies. In a letter sent to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal , Colonel ( R) Kothiyal said that he had been the member of Aam Admi Party from 19 th April 2021 to 18 April, 2022. Keeping in view the sentiments of the ex-servicemen, ex para military forces, women, youths and intellectuals I am resigning from the membership of the party with effect from 18 th May. However he has not extended his gratitude to the party leader for declaring him the CM candidate n inducting in AAP etc. The contents of the three and a half line letter in Hindi unambiguously speaks that the ex – servicemen, ex para military, women n youths including intellectuals doesn’t want him to continue in AAP. It may be recalled that Colonel Kothiyal did his best after being declared the AAP CM candidate by Arvind Kejriwal and toured various parts of Uttarakhand with renewed enthusiasm and spirit with one of his picture carrying the broom on his back in place of a rifle boomeranged with people opposing his gesture saying that how can a retired fauzi cary a broom, AAP symbol in place of a rifle etc. Though AAM Admi Party sought nearly 4% votes in Uttarakhand but it’s candidates in all the seventy seats lost with many losing their security deposits as well. Even, its CM candidate lost from Gangotri coming third in the fray. However, the party gained an absolute majority in Punjab securing 92 seats defeating ruling Congress party n forming its government. Now, the party has dissolved all its units and reorganising it from bottom to toptop, installing its new president. The AAM ADMI PARTY had contested on all seats for the very first time in Uttarakhand and had announced lucrative freebies like three hundred units free monthly electricity, five thousand rupees as unemployment allowance, one lakh jobs to youths, doles of Rs. one thousand to every women above 18 years etc but Modi charisma and polarising political wave help BJP sweep the election for the second time, even breaking the twenty year old myth of opposition party replacing the ruling political dispensation after avery five years. The BJP got 48 seats whereas the Congress 19 and two independents with one seat lying vacant. The chief minister Pushkar Dhami is now contesting from a seat vacated by a BJP MLA from Chapawat.
