After invitation from the centre for deliberations on March 19 to implement MSP and other important demands the SKM and KMM postpone their Delhi March for now

The two frontal organisations of farmers whose leader Dallewal is on the indefinite hunger strike and workers on protest dharna at Shambu and Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana since last 13 February in support of their twelve demands the main being implementation of the Minimum Support Price of their corps have for the time being given up their significant Delhi March scheduled for 25 th February as they have been invited by the central government for another round of deliberations in Delhi on 19 th March to discuss these important demands.

The twelve point demands of these farmers organisation jointly led by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, the two main organisations spearheading the movement include majorly the implementation of the Minimum Support Price after the government buys from them their crops including forthwith implementation of the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations, pension for farmers and farm labourers with no hike in electricity tariff, withdrawal of all the cases registered against them and “justice” for the victims of the 2021 with regard to the Lakhimpur Kheri case, reinstatement of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, and compensation to the families of the farmers who died during a previous agitation in 2020-21 etc.

The information regarding the postponement of the Delhi chalo demonstration and procession march programme has been cancelled after the central government gave them an invitation for the 19 March deliberations in Delhi.

This was announced by Sarvan Singh Pandher , the cordinator of KMM who also urged the Punjab government of AAM Admi Party led by Bhagwant Mann to pass all these 12 demands in the Punjab Assembly and send the recommendations to the central government forthwith.

In adition to this he also demanded immediate framing of the draft National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing getting it duly passed by the Punjab Assembly and sending it to the central government for necessary positive action.

Kindly recall that under the banner of KMM and SKM, the two important farmers bodies have been spearheading this movement to march to Delhi in support of the fulfilment of their twelve point demands sitting at Dharna at Khanauri Punjab Haryana border since last year from the month of February.
