After Delhi CM Rekha Gupta’s intervention bulldozer sent to demolish three temples at Mayur Vihar, Phase 2 called back . SC dismissed plea of temple committees

The pro Hindu party , Bhartiya Janata Party is in power in the national capital territory having attained power after 27 protracted years.

However, today heavy bulldozers have arrived at Mayur Vihar phase 2, with several policemen and the senior DDA officers to demolish three big temples constructed several years ago on government land.

The notice of demolition was pasted on the walls of head three temples viz. Purbo Dilli Kali Baari Admitted, temple, Shri Amaranth Mandir , Sanathan and Badrinath Mandir Samittee.

It may be recalled that these three temples were built on government land in Mahur Vihar Phase -2, near Sanjay Jheeltwo for the last several decades.

Earlier there used to be Jhuggis on this land.

This is the Mayur Vihar, Sanjay Lake area.

After the heavy police team along with the DDA officials and bull dozers reached the spot to demolish the temples there was quite a sensation in the area with local populace and the Temples management committee members etc coming forward to oppose vigrously.

Meanwhile the Patpadganj first time elected MLA Ravi Negi also came there with his followers to oppose the demolition asking the DDA officials to leave the venue.

However they wouldn’t relent. So the local MLA spoke to the chief minister Delhi Rekha Gupta explaining the situation. The chief minister immediately spoke to the Delhi LG Vinay Saxena. After the chief minister’s intervention the DDA demolition team with the bulldozers were asked to return back from the LG office.

However, to save the temples the matter has been urgently filed in the Supreme Court which is being heard by the three judge bench today itself and the decision in this regard is expected shortly.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the three judge bench of Supreme dismissed the petition filed by the management committee of the aforesaid three temples committees and asked them to approach the Delhi High Court.

According to the ANI news the three judge bench justices Vikram Nath, Sanjay Karol and Sanjay Mehta has dismissed the plea saying that they may go to the DHC.

The temples are thirty five years old and the Kali Baari temple Samittee was given permission Durga Pooja in the ground in front of the temple stated the petition but the DDA has in its own whims, and fancies decided to demolish the temples in complete violation of the judgement passed by this court as well as in violation of the provisions contained in 14 and 25 of the Constitution of India. The temples sought the revocation of the demolition orders of the DDA said the ANI news.

It may be recalled that the Delhi High Court had directed the DDA to demolish three temples on the ground of these temples being illegally constructed on the government land.
