After clinching two Bronze in shooting, Swapnil Singh secured his place in 50 metre Air Rifle 3 rd positions final. Shuttlers Lakshya Sen and P.V Sindhu advance of Round of 16 in men’s and women’s singles dear at Paris Olympics

After clinching the two Bronze medals for the country raising the Indian flag high in Paris Olympics by outstanding international shooters Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh in 10 meters air pistol event – in Badminton too the medals seem to be imminent as Shuttlers Lakshya Sen and first woman Shuttler to win Silver in earlier Olympics P.V.Sandhu with immense dexterity advanced to round of 16 of the men’s and women’s singles draw at Paris Olympics. Lakshya Sen originally from Almora, Uttarakhand defeated third seed Jonathan Christie of Indonesia in straight sets after Sindhu triumphed in her much easier tie against Estonia’s Kuuba Christina. Lakshya Sen through with 21-18, 21-12 being his second win in the row book his place in the Quarterfinals. Lakshya Sen has qualified for the Round of 16 in the Men’s Singles badminton in Paris Olympics. Lakshya Sen is a former junior number one having won Gold medals in 2018 Asian Junior Championships in the boys singles and at the Summer Youth Olympics in the mixed team event further winning bronze medal in 2021 World championships. He has to his credit winning the Gold medal in 2022 Commonwealth games. There is another good news from the Shooting field when Indian shooter Swapnil Singh secured his place in the 50 metre Air Rifle 3, Positions final while hard lucked Aishwarya Singh Tomar could field well missing out of the competition. Swapnil secured the aggregate score of 590, finishing 7 th position to grab one of the right spots.Kudos.
