Advisory issued by Delhi government in view of 23 cases of Covid 19

The government of NCT of Delhi has issued an Advisory to all the Medical Directors/Medical Superintendents/ Administrators of all government and private hospitals that in view of the recent increase in COVID 19 cases all the hospitals should be fully prepared to ensure adequate number of beds , Oxygen, Antibiotics & other drugs and vaccines, including keeping all the medical equipments such as Ventilators, Bi- Pap, Oxygen concentrators, PSA etc in functional condition.

In a seven point “Advisory”, the Special Secretary ( Health and Family Welfare) Government of NCT of Delhi has directed all the HODs of hospitals private and government to impart refresher training to the dedicated staff and reporting of the cases of influenza like illness, severe respiratory illnesses etc in the OPDs on a daily basis on the Integrated Health Information Platform portal etc.

The advisory also directs to send all the positive Covid 19 cases ( samples) for White Genome Sequencing to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narain Hospital so as to enable timely detection of new variants if any and sharing of number of samples sent for WGS with State Surveillance Unit.

Wearing masks in the hospital premises have also been made mandatory said the Government Advisory.

It may be recalled that in Mumbai till date 95 COVID 19 cases have been recorded which is considered to be a significant share of Maharashtra’s total of 106 cases since January last.

According to the Delhi health minister 23 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Delhi so far.

This proactive step comes as several Indian cities, including Mumbai, Chennai, and Pune, ramp up surveillance and preparedness measures in response to an uptick in cases.

As per the IANS Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh says, “As of yesterday, a total of 23 COVID cases have been reported in Delhi… The Delhi government is currently verifying whether these patients of Delhi or have come from outside the city. In terms of preparedness, we have already coordinated with all medical superintendents, doctors, and their teams. The Delhi government is fully prepared to deal with any situation, and there is no need for the public to panic…” Said the Delhi Health minister.
