Advisory for the convenience Of KAANWAD YATRIS. CM HOLDS PREPARATORY MEETING
Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a high-level in-depth review meeting was held in Haridwar with people’s representatives, high officials of the government and district level officials regarding the preparations for the Kanwar Yatra-2023.
Instructing the officers to ensure all the necessary arrangements in a time bound manner before the commencement of the Kanwar Mela, the Chief Minister said that full care should be taken of the facilities of the devotees coming for the Kanwar Yatra.
The Chief Minister said that the devotees should carry a good message of Devbhoomi in their mind and heart.
He instructed that special attention should be paid to cleanliness and such arrangements should be made that toilets etc. are cleaned every two hours.
The Chief Minister instructed that it is the responsibility of the officers to make the yatra successful. All the concerned officers should discharge this responsibility with dutifulness and vigilance. Effective arrangements should be made for signage, lighting and cleanliness etc. on the travel route and parking places.
The Chief Minister said that the advisory made for the convenience of the devotees for the Kanwar Yatra should be widely publicised.
For the Kanwar Yatra to be organized, a WhatsApp group should be formed in which senior officials of the government etc. should be included.
The Chief Minister said that all the arrangements related to the Kanwar Mela in Haridwar would be supervised by Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu will do it. In the meeting, the Chief Minister took detailed information from the officials about the arrangements for Neelkanth Mahadev and gave instructions to keep the arrangements in check. The Chief Minister instructed that NOC should be issued regarding the opening of the hill bypass today itself so that the repair work could be completed in time.
The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushed Singh Shame disclosed that last year over four crore Kaanvad Yatries had converged at Haridwar. In a tweet in Hindi after the meeting the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami mentioned that in the high level preparatory meeting all the senior officers have been directed to adequately and meticulously manage the 2023 KAANWAD Yatra at Haridwar. The directives issued to the senior officers include making vigilant medical services, to maintain law and order situation, to keep the banks ( ghats) neat and clean, to accord convenience and comforts to the pilgrims. Last year over four crores pilgrims have thronged at Haridwar. This year the numbers of pilgrims may escalate. The government has taken speci care to welcome the pilgrims wholeheartedly and give the all possible hospitality. The Haridwar MP Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, several MLAs of Haridwar and senior bureaucrats of all departments, DGP Uttarakhand etc were present in this high profile meeting.
