“Aaya Ram Gaya Ram politics”, a common phenomena in Uttarakhand politics with Harish Rawat not to accept Dr.Harak Singh Rawat in Congress unless he seeks apologies

Uttarakhand that got the separate entity after so much of sacrifices and relentless struggle of several years including, the most dastardly act of Mujaffarnagar tragedy in particular, is today an open ground of politics of sheer opportunism ” the Aaya Ram Gaya Ram politics, where ironically leaders of both the parties – Congress and BJP are in their discourse giving lessons of being the most honest leaders with impeccable background of integrity and the former Uttarakhand CM teaching lessons of integrity to another leader like Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, the cabinet minister of BJP, previously in Congress n minister in his council of ministers, about whom rumours are coming that he intends to join Congress party.

Sounds ironical and ridiculous that the senior Congress leader and former CM Harish Rawat is teaching lessons of probity in Indian politics, especially in the politics of Uttarakhand claiming himself to be the most honest politician and terming Harak Singh Rawat as the politician with opportunist unethical background who played the role of his main detractor by allegedly purchasing MLAs to dethrone him when he was the chief minister of Uttarakhand in 2017.

I being a journalist sometimes think that these politicians think that the electorates are the foolish lot who can be swayed away as per their convenience by changing sides as and when convenience fir them, nit being answerable to their electorates.

If a leader like Harish Rawat claims that Harak Singh Rawat, is the biggest sinner and allegedly an opportunist politician who was involved in horse trading to destroy the Congress government led by him in 2017 and is therefore not acceptable or admissible in Congress, then the logic does not suit the inhabitants of Uttarakhand especially when he appreciates and applaud the then BJP minister and MLA and his son Yashpal and Sanjiv Acharya for joining Congress two days ago who are no less than the established political opportunist who first joined BJP leaving Congress n becoming minister n now joined the parent party again finding it the most attractive option to beget ministerial berth next time in the ensuing elections.

Anyways, my point is that “Aaya Ram Gaya Ram politics”, is ruling the roost in Uttarakhand and both Congress and BJP are busy engineering defections to downgrade each other in order exploit political dividends in the ensuing assembly elections, that are due in March 2022.

While three MLAs have joined BJP, two independents and one from Congress, the Congress too gave a huge rebuff to the ruling saffron party by engineering defections in it and admitting two of its MLAs into Congress’s fold, one of them being a cabinet minister.

However, there are still reports that finding greater options for seeking maximum political advantage by joining the Congress in view of the anti incumbency factor against ruling BJP, some senior ministers and lawmakers are likely to join Congress say sources and cabinet minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat is one of them, but his bete noire, old colleague and former chief minister Harish Rawat has outrightly opposed his entry in Congress accusing Dr. Rawat as the greatest sinner of being hand in glove with his opponents within Congress by horse trading the MLAs and collapsing Congress govt led by him in 2019.

Rawat says that he will never tolerate accepting him in Congress unless or until he seeks public apology for his past serious blunders in collapsing his government. Rawat catagorically said that nothing doing, he will never ever tolerate Dr. Rawat’s entry in Congress unless he seeks apologies publicly for his worst blunder in engineering horse trading and collapsing Congress government.
