AAP volunteers raise slogans during the Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals match in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley stadium

Several youth volunteers of Aam Admi Party on Tuesday created quite a furore in the Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Cricket stadium when the yellow T-shirts wearing uniform with “JAIL KA JAWAB VOTE SE” inscribed on it raised slogans in favour of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival demanding his release who is currently in Tihar Jail in connection with Delhi Government ‘s New Excise Policy related Liquor Scam in which there are accusations against him that he has allegedly accepted Rs 100 crores from South Libby to give them favours etc. The youth volunteers in yellow uniform were raising slogans like Dilli Ka Laal Kejrival and Jail Ka Jawab Vote se Do etc. The slogans were raised when the IPL match between the Delhi Capital and Rajasthan Royals team was going on. The protest was also in response to the judgement kept reserve by SC two judge bench not giving any relief to Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival who has challenged his arrest as illegal and arbitrary first in Delhi High Court and then in Supreme Court. It may be recalled that the two judge bench of of Supreme Court comprising of Justices Dipankar Dutta and Sanjiv Khanna had after tremendous arguments on Monday by the ED counsels Tushar Mehta , Solicitor General and Mr.Raju had opposed the possible interim bail likely to be given to Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival in view of the ongoing elections and he being the duly elected Delhi CM has to go for campaigning as the general elections are held once in five years. The ED counsel said that if the Delhi CM gets special treatment and given interim bail then it will set a wrong precedent and thousands of people including politicians behind jail will ask for such bail giving the reference of such precedence. However, the court said that they hold everyone irrespective of their status equal in the eyes of law and judiciary but this case is different and he is a duly elected CM n has to go for campaigning for his candidates etc a constitutional democratic right . However, after detailed argumentation from ED and Kejrival’s side the court reserved its judgement regarding interim bail to Delhi CM for the time being saying that had Arvind Kejrival not been the duly elected Delhi CM and elections were not going on, he shouldn’t have been given interim bail, but since this is an extraordinary case and circumstances too are extraordinary giving the ongoing elections, we’re thinking of granting him interim bail to enable him go for campaigning to which the ED strongly opposed compelling the bench to keep the order reserved.
