AAP MP, RS Raghav Chadha gets relief from Delhi High Court. Will live in a type 7 Bungalow !
THE vociferous Rajya Sabha, Member of Parliament from Punjab Raghav Chadda has on Tuesday got relief from the Delhi High Court after his allotment for type 7 Bungalow was cancelled by a lower court on the pretext that a first term member of parliament is not entitled for this category of accommodation actually entitled for those members of parliament who had been ex union ministers , former governors or chief Ministers etc. After the high court’s order the Punjab Rajya Sabha MP will not have to vacate his present type seven accommodation for the time being as currently it has revoked the cancellation order of the lower court subject to the final decision of the HC. According to the latest news reports the former MLA from Rajinder Nagar from AAP party was elected the Rajya Sabha MP after the AAP government was formed in Punjab with an absolute majority last year. He was then allotted a type 6 Bungalow but after the MP Raghav Chadha, approached the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar his special request for type 7 accomodation was approved and he had shifted the type 7 accomodation in which he is presently living. This type 7 Bungalow is in posh Pandara Road vicinity. Usually and as per norms since type seven bungalows are allotted to MPs who had been former chief Ministers, Governors or union minister in the month of March Chadda was given the ultimatum to vacate this flat. Raghav Chadha, Rajya Sabha MP from AAP has recently been married to a film actress Parineeta Chopra in Delhi lavish Kapurthala house . By profession he is a chartered accountant who had joined Arvind Kejrival and his party AAP and was elected as MLA from Rajinder Nagar assembly seat in February 2020 and was there after made the In charge of Punjab elections by Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival. His efforts bore fruits and AAP got absolute majority in Punjab Assembly elections badly defeating Congress. He was elected as Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab there after.
Meanwhile while welcoming the order of Delhi High Court Rajya, Sabha MP Raghav Chadha wrote on X, earlier twitter : This is not the fight to protect a house or a shop, this is the fight to protect the Constitution. In the end truth and justice has prevailed. My statement on the Hon’ble Delhi High Court’s ruling to set aside the unjust order to evict me from my official residence tweeted Raghav Chadha enclosing his statement .
